General Discussion / Re: FH2 v2.45 Changelog discussion!
« on: 13-07-2012, 11:07:35 »
imho the changes have improved FH2 as much as they did back when F2.25 moved to FH2.3.

And imho, the jump from 2.3 to 2.4 was a disaster...the bias towards ensuring an Axis victory with improved German Armour and weakened Allied weaponry was blatantly obvious, if FH2 is about historical accuracy, then it's amazing that the Allies ever won the war.

It's no coincidence that my playtime of FH2 went from 12-20hrs a week, down to 4 or 5 after 2.4.

Sorry, but for me, the Dev's got the balance completely wrong in 2.4, I'll try 2.45, but I still expect FH2's glory days to be over.

EDIT:

On a side note...I just LOVE my new 100mbit Fibre connection, 4.2GB torrent download in 8 Mins.. ;D

We all know that Pc's today can run FH2 pretty much maxed out Graphics with very high frame rates, but i suspect that alot of you run the game on minimum settings for the advantages it brings..the following shots show what i mean..

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the gains running the game on minimum compared to maximum brings..seeing your opponent that split second earlier against the backgrounds without shadows and lighting restricting your view, can make the difference between success and failure..

Am i the only one who prefers to lose the advantage by running on Max settings to potentially getting the drop on others for the sake of topping the scores?

General Discussion / Re: Strange observation

just stay away from 762 servers. Thats my personal opinion

This...

Any server that lets the single biggest cheating motherfucker in FH2 history (Unique-Mck24) become a server admin, should be avoided IMO, as it tells you plenty about the type of people in charge.

Unique was previously banned on 762 as well, so the server Admins know full well he is a cheat, and once a cheat, always a cheat.

TBH, i will ONLY go on 762 if..

A. HSLAN is empty

B. Unique-Mck24 isn't playing.

You should play the game a bit more before pointing out problems, where no problems are.  ;)

Why is somebody with less playing time than me, telling me to 'play the game a bit more'...before pointing out an 'error' in the game mechanics..? ;D

If there are technical reasons for not having a reloading ironsight view for the LE, due to BF2 engine limitations, fair enough, but i was just pointing out that FH2 seems so accurate in other areas with very little concessions to game balance, it seemed strange that a notable rifle advantage with the LE wasn't represented in the game.

Is this unreasonable?..

This has been bugging me for a while, but when your in zoom/aim mode, take a shot, then reload, you have to go manually back into zoom mode, unlike the M1 Garand which stays in zoom mode...why is this?

Yes i know the Garand is a semi auto, but....the Lee Enfield had been speciffically designed with an offset, angled bolt to allow reloading without the user having to move his head from the targeting view, all British and Commonwealth troops would have been trained to do this, unlike the German KAR which had a 'straight on' bolt that meant the shooter had to move his head out the way in order to chamber another round..

If FH2 is about accuracy, shouldn't this inconsistency be rectified...

EDIT:

Download this and take a look to see what i mean..

...so, no FH3 on BF3...

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-07-06-why-you-cant-mod-battlefield-3

Quote
"EA has explained why Battlefield 3 does not feature modding tools.

"As of now we are not going to make any modding tools, no," EA senior vice president Patrick Soderlund confirmed to German website GameStar.de.

Why? Because Battlefield 3 is so complex, creating a mod would be too hard.

"If you look at the Frostbite Engine and how complex it is, it's going to be very difficult for people to mod the game," Soderlund explained.

"Because of the nature of the set-up of levels, the destruction, it's quite tricky.

"So we think it's going to be too big of a challenge for people to make a mod."

I know there were probably no plans to move FH2 over to the new BF3 engine anyway, but the option would have been nice.

so,do you stupid mod makers feel patronised enough by the pricks in suits at EA.?

Was messing around with the single player the other day and found out you can get some really cool, cinematic screenshots by picking the 'spotter' class, mounting a vehicle, switching to binoculars, cycling the camera and pressing your 'zoom' key for the binoculars......

44
Lol....i've come to realise the best way to discover ALL of FH2's maps 'dirty little secrets' is to open them up in the BF2 Mod tools....

Every spawn point for players, tanks, weapon pickups..... ;D

, where the Americans have found out that you can kill the Tiger if you work together. .

A fine sentiment on private battle servers, but on public servers?...working together?.....lol
