I would like to see More Public Events to generate interests & help keep the game on life support.

How about a cool Xmas tournament with snow maps and squad vs squad (12 vs 12) or larger battles....

Maybe mod Bastogne with a xmas theme....

A MODERN ENGINE - Developed for Unreal Engine 4

Off-Topic / Total Solar Eclipse in America Today!!
« on: 21-08-2017, 17:08:43 »
The last one was in 1979, so this is a big event. Lots of Europeans have made the trip to Hopkinsville, Ky to see the 2:40 min Total Eclipse. Im about 2 hrs away from there, but in my area it will be 98.7%, so it should be spectacular!!

Ill post some pics later

The next North American Total Eclipse won't be until 2024.

The August event will go down as the first total solar eclipse whose path of totality stays completely in the United States since 1776 during the Revolutionary War.

Suggestions / FH2 Standalone (Discussion Only)
« on: 04-06-2015, 20:06:16 »
With PR v1.3 Standalone being a HUGE success with more players joining everyday & server populations exploding, the path for FH2's future has been paved.....

I'm sure im not the only one in this community interested in exploring the possibilities this would offer FH2 in its current state.

I will start with 3 basic questions:

(1) Is it possible for FH2 to do this (manpower/technical skill) ?

(2) Are there development benefits for "FH2 Standalone" without the need of BF2 files (less restrictions/easier to mod)?

(3) With EA basically walking away from BF2, do the devs foresee any legal action towards PR for doing this?

Suggestions / Countdown to Eastern Front
« on: 27-04-2015, 13:04:36 »
How about it? i mean, we are close to a release right?

For example: Fh2 Eastern Front Release scheduled for a June release

Target Date: June 22 2015 (subject to change)

I feel like if there were an announcement regarding a general timeframe for the release of the Eastern Front, it would generate an excitement/anticipation & public interest which in turn would have a much longer lasting effect.

At this point in the game (pun intended) with Bf2 basically shelved in the publics eye & interest in FH2 stagnant, why not try something different.

FH2 Help / Support / Cannot connect to Gamespy server
« on: 30-03-2015, 00:03:37 »
 Anyone else having this problem:

An error occurred while verifying "$talkker" GameSpy account:

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time
or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

I just played this Sat without any problems.

This is the 1st time anything like this has ever happened.

Is there something wrong with the account server?

Off-Topic / Fly Like An Eagle
« on: 16-03-2015, 22:03:03 »
I normally dont post here unless i am arguing with an forum moderator or trolling  :P

I thought this was kind of cool......

Over the weekend Darshan the eagle set a new world record. Darshan was equipped with a GoPro camera and was recorded flying off the top of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (The Tallest Building In The World).

Check out the breathtaking footage!

Operation Varsity (24 March 1945) was a successful joint American, British and Canadian airborne operation that took place toward the end of World War II. Involving more than 16,000 paratroopers and several thousand aircraft, it was the largest airborne operation in history to be conducted on a single day and in one location.

As soon as the EF is complete in the year 2020, i assume a 60 yr old TS4ever will see this post & immediately begin work on this epic map.

Off-Topic / It's Popcorn Time!
« on: 01-07-2014, 00:07:57 »

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Popcorn Time is a multi-platform, free and open source media player. The program is intended as a free alternative to subscription-based video streaming services such as Netflix.

This is a great media player & a great FREE alternative to NEXFLIX.

The developers included a VPN(Virtual Private Network) option to anonymize use of their clients.

June 7, 2014
This week the feature was added to the latest 4.2 Alpha release. By clicking a lock icon users can quickly connect and disconnect the built-in protection. Although it may take some more time before a stream starts playing, it appears to work just fine

It even has built in subtitles in 44 different languages for all media content!

 Your Welcome!

FH2 Help / Support / How do you pack zip files properly?
« on: 20-06-2014, 18:06:05 »
So, I have a modified GamePlayObjects.con for the & I would like to know the best way to repack the server files once I have unpacked them.

I tried using 7zip, but the game crashed. I used a GamePlayObjects.con file that another member(Geo) modified, however I have no way of telling at this point if it was corrupt & the source of the problem.

My Crete idea is based on a night counter attack on the maleme airfield conducted by The Commonwealth troops during the night of 21–22 May.

16 - This would take more work

The 32 player version encompasses the locations, but it includes Suda Bay which is to far east as the 20th battalion staging area was west of Chania.

So, perhaps a smaller version of the 32 layer would suffice.

- remove suda bay
- add gray flag between chania & maleme called Pirgos

And as the battalion got closer to Pirgos and the aerodrome the opposition became denser and the volume of machine-gun fire greater.

We went on meeting resistance in depth—in ditches, behind hedges, in the top and bottom stories of village buildings, fields and gardens on road beside drome.

The amount of MG fire was never equalled. Fortunately a lot of it was high and the tracer bullets enabled us to pick our way up and throw in grenades. We had heavy casualties but the Germans had much heavier.

- Maybe leave monestary as a flanking flag for any team that controls it

- The Airfield should be cappable & pirgos should be gray

So in this senario, it would be the 1st FH2 layer at night near water which should make the moon even brighter.

General Discussion / The History Of Forgotten Hope
« on: 08-05-2014, 08:05:15 »
I've been fascinated with FH since it was 1st released years ago.

I have always wondered about the history behind the mod.

- Who came up with the name "Forgotten Hope"
- Who's idea was it to create the mod
- Who was the lead developers for FH1 & FH2
- What was the 1st map ever made

Post other question & im sure some of the regulars here will have some interesting answers.

General Discussion / FH2 Awards For 2.46

Just wondering if any changes were made & if we still have 2 award systems?

Are there any Official FH2 Awards Servers?
