I've been downloading the torrent file for the past 3 and a half hours, it's 65% done and ETA is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Suck it up and start the torrent, or wait for a good North American mirror. Nothing else you can do.
I am very disappointed. This wasnt a good start of a release!
One Day Annouce, one day torrent to the release. Why didnt you announce the release date with torrent file one week before? (like 2.1, 2.15 etc)
And only 2 direct links... omg... why not bigger plattforms?
I like the idea of torrent, but torrent is bullshit when nobody is seeding because of the short forerun... :-(
The release was obviously fucked over by the BF2 1.5 patch. I'm fairly confident they were intending to release the torrent on Wednesday, as per tradition, but BF2 1.5 screwed too much stuff up and they needed to fix it first. They decided to release it ASAP instead of delaying another week. It might not be the smoothest release, but we have 2.2 (or can get it) and we should be happy.
The mirror problem is likely compounded by the fact that the release was so screwed up by BF2 1.5 that the Devs didn't know whether or not they could release this weekend, so they didn't have any mirrors lined up. When everything was fixed in time for a weekend release, they pushed 2.2 through the torrent and likely scoured the internet looking for mirrors on such a short notice.
The question is: Would you rather have had to wait another week for 2.2, and possibly find out later that it was ready before they released it? I'm positive someone would be bitching about the Devs "holding out on them" or something if that had happened.
