Title: MG-37(t) in Marder III
Post by: Marder on 30-10-2010, 14:10:11
Hi all
I got a little suggestion regarding the Marder III. The MG-37 (t) in the front hull, his sound and rate of fire could be like the british Besa MG? The Besa MG was a copy of the czech ZB-53/MG-37 (t). (sorry if this suggestion is stupid).

Not stupid at all, this is already reported as a bug ;)

The ticket was erroneously closed.  I have reopened it.

If a ZB emplaced version ever appears in FH2 it will be fixed for sure.
Until that happened, i dont think so.

Must be about 8 hours work for 10 developers to change a few lines of text and a sound file. Maybe in 10 years.

Well, it could be made for a early eastern front map, but that's still a long way away

Any SS map can use ZB 37's or any czech weapons :/
21st panzer devision for example also used czech weapons

the barrel of the mg is on the Tank, kratzer.. why would you need a new model to create a sound file and slow down the rate of fire? i knwo personally that this takes 10 minutes. been there done that.

Oh man, stop replacing mg34/42 with that thing. Round mag machine guns are awful.

Luckily, FH2 is not based on your fantasies.

Also, MG34/42 has never been replaced by a TK vz. 37 in FH2.

Huge amounts of these got issued to the german wehrmacht AND waffen SS

German troops liked the ZB 57/VZ37 alot. Very accurate and mas MUCH and much more effective then the MG34/42 in infantry support role as a medium machinegun on a tripod. Adjustable ROF aswel(500 and 800 rounds a minute)

Werent these the MG's that formed most of the mg-armament protecting some of the most notable sections of the atlantic wall, such as Omaha Beach?

medium machinegun on tripod, that does not make any sense to.
Mg 34/42 could be used propaly without such a big tripod.
maybe it was better in static and trench defence, but for blitzkrieg war style it seems not too good for me

Yep. Same goes for italian beaches.

Blitzkrieg wassent exactly used after 1941  ;D Weapons like these are still usefull and needed for assaults on defensive positions aswel, for supressive fire. They where around in 1945, they are STILL around today. Tripods reduce much recoil aswel.

And if you see the recoil on a MG34/42 with bipod, and the MG34/42 on a lafette=Huge diffrence

mg42: 12 kilos 1 Person
Vz.37 :19 kg gun + 17.5 tripod 2 Persons at least
Mg42: can be shot without tripid
vz 37: does look as it would need one.

Imo the vz is a heavy machinegun for static defence, but not suitable for a moving unit, no matter if blitzkrieg forward or blitzkrieg back. ^^

So for the weigt of one vz you get 3 mg42.
I take the mg 42 ...

The guns were used cause everything was used, not cause it was that good. More is better, but mg 42 is 3 times better then this

allsoo, accuracy has MUCH more to say about the person who fires the weapon, not the weapon itself.

allso a weapon that Requires a lafette/tripod is not very good for close combat situation as most infantry combat are faught, maybe in the stationary support role, but Not on the move. no. never.

but this thread is Not about the zb-whatever lafette. its about mg37 in the marder III,     moderators?

well yeah true but if they make a true VZ37 in it, they could make the infantry deployed version :v

its only about making the right sound and rewrite a line or two, not making a model.

as noone is ever gonna care to remodel the tank for this, and neither would i.

maps and shit before guns.

just OTi:
vz30 is a lmg
vz37 is a hmg
mg42/mg34 is a mmg (so it can be transform as a hmg - lafette - and as a lmg with a drum).

Depending of the purpose of the platoon you had hmg, lmg, mortar etc ... like in any nation !
Mg34 was created as a multi purpose mg because of the massive need for a quick rearmement.

Thought it was the ZB mag mg. And that thing looks too heavy. I rather have a lafette.
