I haven't tried it yet to see how it affects gameplay, but the stamina bar was always one of the most ridiculously unrealistic elements of BF/FH2. When I first started playing FH2, it just cracked me up that I was supposed to be a soldier who has been through basic and probably a few years of war already, yet, when I'm being chased by a Panther I can only run for about 30 seconds before I have to find a patch of tall brush to take a nap in. I mean, I know my soldier probably smokes a pack of Lucky Strikes every hour, but this was before McDonalds made everyone morbidly obese.

I've noted a lot of people saying this will make maps seem tiny and such, but I see this is a separate mapmaking issue. The fact of the matter is if the army found out you couldn't physically run for more than 30 seconds while being chased by a tank, you probably would have been given a medical exemption or relegated to the kitchen.

There's a reason why the sprint function is called "sprinting" and not "jogging". That's because this is supposed to make you run the fastest you can and no one can do that for very long, especially with the heavy package a soldier keeps bearing.

Unlimited stamina is just a move in the arcade direction that I personally find questionable, nothing to do with realism at all.

Except that the "sprint" does not make you run as fast as you can and WWII soldier carried NOTHING compared to modern gear. I'm not the most fit guy by any stretch of the imagination but even I could run a good deal with ~9 kg combat vest, 25 kg bullet proof vest, ~5 kg rifle, helmet + all the other crap.

On an unrelated note, has anyone been searching the full change log yet? ;)

PzKpfw IV Ausf H without skirts ...   :o

Only one good tank for caping a flag without dying from PIAT zergrush , is now castrated ? Geezz ...
PZIV is pretty OP against inf compared to sherman as such. Besides the schurzen wherent liked by all commanders. a powerfull enough artillery shell to land near a PZIV could twist the metal in a way wich it got jammed between the roadwheels.
Or if 2 joints where broken and the plate fell off the tank, but still attached to it, it became a major mobility killer

Of course, but you're just making the same mistake I underlined in my previous post: thinking about jogging (i.e. slow extended running) and calling it "sprinting" (i.e. fast running you can hold only for a short time).  :)

Simple, there's no sprinting in FH2 anymore, now we have "jog button".

And one could argue that it actually slows down gameplay, since you are terribly exposed when jogging without your weapon out.

What kind of body armour have you been issued? 25kg? Are they filled with solid lead plates?
The ones we got issued weren´t heavier than 15kg and they were already some years old.

Anyway, after playing some 2.45 today I´ve got very mixed feelings about the removal of stamina. While it is true that back in WW2 soldiers didn´t carry as much as today, they still had to carry a good ammount of equipment that had a certain weight.
Constantly running around, jogging hills up and down without some sort of penalty feels therefore kinda odd to me.

Btw, I´ve experienced quite a good amount of dolphin divers today (running, jumping on the ground and instantly getting iron sights up and shooting enemies). Wasn´t there a penalty in older versions? Has it been removed or is my brain just playing tricks with me?

It is not removed. Someitmes people get lucky. Or they shoot before proning and it looks like that due to server lag, had that a few times.

Guard's jägers got heavier vests than basic jägers in Finland, the normal vest is about 15 kg AFAIK. Ours was ~9kg kevlar vest with two 7.5 kg ceramic plates. Heavy as sin but stops a rifle bullet. :P

True, true, heavy as sin. Ours were kevlar and two ceramic plates, as well, designed to stop rifle calibre rounds, too but way more lighter. Maybe you got them issued to give you a reason to bitch about and therefore feel tougher than the rest. ;)

Removal of multi-player (2+ players) flag capping requirements in many map flags,

I'm not sure I'll like this as it seems it will encourage lonewolfing. And abusing the push bug where some guy gets behind enemy lines and auto caps all flags as the push progresses... This will only make it easier for them...

I don't see it in the changelog. It's a lie right? Last thing we need is more lone capping.

Nope it's not. But on the other hand, many maps have sector push now, making backcapping impossible.

For our foreign friends, Guard's Jägers is a specialized urban warfare unit, doing all sorts of stuff like house-to-house combat, fastrope rappelling down a city block, ambushing convoys from sewers like a bunch of ninja turtles etc. so they carry the heaviest possible vest because when shit gets real they are likely to be shot at from a point-blank range compared to your average grunt who is mostly concerned about shrapnel and stray bullets fired from a hundred meters away.

This is how I interpreted the change, because in addition to removing the stamina bar they also reduced the running speed a bit, so now you can't sprint, but you can jog forever.

I tried it myself. It is possible to dive and shoot. That's annoying indoors. You have to show me the soldier first who is able to dive, shoot and hit a target IRL.

As I love dolphins I'll go out now and kill some bunnies. (bring stamina back!)
