FH2 Help / Support / Launcher wont launch
« on: 10-01-2016, 15:01:11 »
Good afternoon,

I want to get back to the battlefield after a long depart from this incredible mod.

Last november I brought my desktop to the shop. They removed everything/cleaned up, reinstalled windows 7 and put most of my files back.

But I had to reinstall BF2 and FH2. So I installed BF2, installed the patches and installed FH2. I can start the launcher. But when I actually launch FH2 it just does nothing... Only that is challenging and querying the gamespy server and then it kicks out.... I already tried to start without windows firewall and run as adminstrator.

Funny thing is that FH2 is running in windows taskmanager... see the attached file.

Can anyone help? Thx in advance!

...ordered them to concentrate automatic fire on the tracks of the advancing T-34s. Nobody was optimistic as to the likely outcome, but there remained little else they could do. ... They held their fire until the tanks had approached to within 200m. A burst of fire smashed the track of the leading T-34, which began to turn helplessly around on the same spot. Guns were then ordered to concentrate fire on the turrent. Even before the first magazine emptied, the turrent lid flipped open and a white flag appeared. The Russian crew clambored out and were taken prisoner. Meanwhile the cone of 20mm fire was switched to the left and another T-34 similiarly disabled.
Instead of surrendering, the crew of this vehicle chose to fight with small arms as they emerged. They were cut to pieces by multiple impacts of 20mm cannon explosions which sparked and spluttered around the hull. Other tanks met the same fate. Crews were scythed down at any sign of resistance. The rest of the T-34s turned back. It was inconcievable ...that their insignificant calibre cannon could have triumphed against tanks considered the heaviest of their type.
...They moved forward curiously to examine the results of their handiwork and discovered that, apart from cut caterpillar treads and damage to drive and sprocket wheels, there was nothing to explain the abrupt abandonment of the tanks. 'not until the prisoners were questioned did the riddle become clear'.... The answer lay in the resonant din produced by multiple 20mm strikes on cast steel turrents, which had the effect of transforming them into 'huge bells'.
'Continuous explosions on the turrent had produced a hellish noise which had grown louder from explosion to explosion. The sound had swollen beyond the realms of tolerance and had virtually driven the crews insane.'
... claimed his battery had disabled 32 T-34s tanks before the end of the year [1941], employing similiar tactics.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Saw it last night. It is a movie that lives up to the hype. I really want to post spoilers but I wont  ;)

You probaly saw the trailers already so you know the story. I think the Bane character was very wel portrayed, just like Catwoman. Many known faces pop up in this movie but it works because the acting and directing is top notch. The movie has a nice balance between dialogue and action but some of the dialogue was a bit cliche. The action was really good and the fights scenes between Batman and Bane are brutal. There are some real plot twists which surprised me.

All in all a spectaculair movie to end a spectaculair tribology.

9.5 out of 10

Opel Blitz with Flak38... Great mobile AA platform that is also deathly vs APCs, trucks, fixed positions and infantry.

Love the HJ knife, easy switch from SMG and fast atack weapon. bayonet is also good but takes to long to fix.

The Avengers (2012)

Saw it last night in 3D. A great action ride. It looked great (although the 3D was completely pointless) Had some laughs. Every character gets a little background story which makes the movie a bitt long but its okay. Scarlett Johansson walks around in tight clothing.

7/10

Waffen SS soldiers waiting to advance during Unternehmen Sonnenwende, 1945. Great picture showing the flat terrain in Pomerania and a rare in action image of a Sd.Kfz 251/21 and Sd.Kfz 251/22.

Anyone know what unit these soldiers/vehicles belong to?

8.5/10

Great movie, got me scared a few times. What I like the most is the unexpected ending, made me laugh!

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Easily the best movie I've seen in a while, good 8/10 material.  Good plot, well-made, good acting and effects...but the ending did not satisfy me.
I heard it sucked

It doesn't suck. It's quite enjoyable and the story is pretty cool. But I just wish Guy Ritchie would tone down his style. It's exhausting to look at and doesn't serve a purpose. Not that I'm old fashioned or anything, but in this case it's just visual excess for the fuck of it. The story thunders along without pause which just doesn't suit a Sherlock Holmes story. There's no tension buildup whatsoever. But pretty good movie nonetheless. Downey and Law simply have that vibe. But Noomi Rapace is heavily underused. Why hire one of the most daring actresses of today for your movie and then not give her anything real to do?

^^ I agree and its way better then the first one

The Guard 2011

An unorthodox Irish policeman with a confrontational personality is teamed up with an uptight FBI agent to investigate an international drug-smuggling ring.
Well written dark comedy, good conservations and acting, the cop-story is clichy as fuck but it will make you laugh!

Drive 2011
A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.
The first 10 min are EPIC, the soundtrack gives this movie something special, the acting and camerawork are good, i thought the ending sucked because its kinda abupt and it doenst really fit in with the rest but this movie is a great ride!
