I had this problem a while ago. I'm pretty sure what solved it was going to My Documents, then Forgottenph 2 (which is a document in the My Documents folder), the to the folder Profiles and to your profile (usually titled 0001. I have several profiles due to me forgetting login info/changing emails). Then delete your Controls.con file. Then go into FH2 and hit reset to defaults on your controls.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure this fixes it. I will check back in a few days to see if it has. Best of luck!

Modding / Re: FH2 Zombies beta release! (1-19-13)
« on: 24-09-2013, 19:09:14 »
Love it! My friends and I play it at least once a week now (along with regular FH2).

Keep up the good work, we look forward to seeing more!

Suggestions / Re: M1 Garand clip ejection

As a side note, I would like to add that the Carcano - which uses an en bloc magazine similar to the Garand - can be reloaded in the middle of a clip. There is a small magazine release button inside the trigger guard that allows a partially used magazine to be popped out the top. Both my 1891 infantry rifle and 1891 cavalry carbine have this, but I'm not 100% sure if the M38 has it. I also know that Dutch M1895 Mannlichers have this feature as well.

Just an interesting side note.

I read about this in an issue of WWII magazine maybe a year ago. Now I'll have to dig out the magazine (from my huge pile of them lol) and read about it again!  ;D

General Discussion / Re: Missing forgotten hope africa map?

I would agree that it was a bit unbalanced, but I loved playing it offline as German because it was such a challenge. Now, I never played it online much (mostly because it was hardly on any servers). I would like to see it updated and back in the game, but I'd much rather the focus be put on new maps and new theaters.

Suggestions / Re: The swedish mauser in finland
« on: 08-04-2013, 23:04:14 »
I quite like this idea. The Swedish Mauser is one of the best Mausers out there.

On a side note, they didn't just use the Italian M38 and the Swedish Mausers. I've seen SA (Finnish) marked French Bertheir rifles of all variants (including American made Bertheirs sold to Finland). I've seen all sorts of rifles that were SA marked here in the US (I'm a collector). It's interesting because they used just about whatever they could get their hands on, even the not-so-great Italian M38 Carcano. I'm not saying we waste time adding a ton of different rifles, just a neat historical note.

General Discussion / Re: Straight Pull rifles
« on: 21-02-2013, 05:02:11 »
I don't believe so, unfortunately. I'm a military rifles collector though and I have seen quite a few Steyr M95 carbines converted to 8mm and used by the Yugoslavs. However I doubt they'll ever get into the game.

Most of the straight pulls that were used - the Steyr M1895 and the Canadian Ross rifle - were used in WWI. The Schmidt-Rubin's were never really used in any war.

Personally, I love the third person. It helps me for things like landing and stuff like that. I rarely use it in combat. Sometimes I'll use it to check behind me but that isn't very often.

I say keep it.

Suggestions / Re: Fun Map - Community Suggestion

I also don't think it would be that hard to make. Throw some hills in, maybe some buildings here and there, some trees. I think it could be pretty quick and fun.

Suggestions / Fun Map - Community Suggestion
« on: 04-01-2013, 01:01:40 »
Before I being, this suggestion is more directed to the FH community and not so much the devs.

Anyway, I shall begin. The other night my internet went down (thanks to my unreliable service provider and a nice rain storm) but I still really wanted to play some FH2. So, I logged in to my trusty old offline account, and started blowing away some bots. Although that got boring fairly quickly. So I then decided to just throw it to conquest and play without any bots. This may sound boring, but I've found it can actually be quite fun. Messing about with different guns, seeing how high you can jump tanks and jeeps, seeing how low you can go in aircraft.

I've been messing about offline like this in my free time (when I'm not playing online or coop with a friend) for many years. I once played this mod (can't remember which it is) that had a map with every vehicle, gun, stationary weapon, aircraft, etc on it. On one huge map with some random hills and stuff. It was a lot of fun to play offline on it because you could just go mess around with everything the game had to offer right there on one map.

So, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who messes about offline. Is there anyone else who would have any interest in a map like this? The reason I said this was more pointed at the community than the devs is because a map like this wouldn't be the kind of thing they need to spend their time on, however someone from the community might be able to throw something like this together with relative ease. Unfortunately, I don't have any clue how to use a map editor, otherwise I'd just build it myself.

Would there be anyone willing to throw something like this together?

Suggestions / Re: Radio Communication Opel Blitz
« on: 02-01-2013, 18:01:51 »
Actually, if you think about it, this isn't just good for NA. Other than the captured Mammoth the Germans only have the Sd.Kfz. 250 halftrack radio vehicle. I bet you something like this Opel radio truck would go great in Russia (in fact I think that photo you posted was taken in Russia).

I think it would be a great idea!

General Discussion / Re: Best Two-handed automatic weapon?
« on: 02-01-2013, 04:01:53 »
My vote goes to the most underrated of all - the Beretta M38. I've found it to have pretty good medium range accuracy - enough to act almost as well as an M1 Carbine on semi-automatic. And, it now comes with those wonderful 40-round magazines for when you have to clear an ally on Giarabub or charge up a mountain on Keren.

Second choice is probably the MP-40. It's relatively abundant and great for close range. It's hard to get a hold of STG-44s so I don't use them that often online.

Things like BARs and Brens are good in a pinch, but you really have to lay down to use them effectively.

Off-Topic / Interesting Story of a Brave Co-Pilot
« on: 25-12-2012, 03:12:56 »
So I was reading about the Vickers Wellington bomber because I found some interesting photos of it and I wanted to do a write up on it for my blog, and I read this interesting story:

"In one case, a German Bf 110 night-fighter attacked a Wellington returning from an attack on Münster, Germany, causing a fire at the rear of the starboard engine. Co-pilot Sergeant James Allen Ward climbed out of the fuselage in flight, kicked holes in the doped fabric of the wing for foot and hand holds to reach the starboard engine, and physically smothered the burning upper wing covering. He and the aircraft returned home safely, and Ward was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions."

It takes some serious guts and devotion to climb out of a plane in flight. Hero's don't go kill a bunch of enemy soldiers, they save the lives of their friends. This guy was a hero.

Off-Topic / Re: Help with rifle camouflage
« on: 09-12-2012, 07:12:52 »
Well, it looks to me to be a tan or khaki base with green/brown stripes. My suggestion is do something similar. Krylon can be good, but it'd be better if you used a higher quality paint. Or some kind of non-gloss sealer.

Also, don't paint the bolt or any surfaces that rub together. With a nice rifle like that, the tolerances will be tight enough that the paint will make it either stick badly or be pretty inoperable. Use masking tape liberally haha.

And I think it's kind of interesting, I'm from Texas as well.

Bug Reporting / Hurtgen Forest Katzenhardt Mortar Bug
« on: 26-11-2012, 01:11:59 »
I was playing Hurtgen forest earlier today and I got stuck on a static German mortar near the Katzenhardt position. I couldn't get off and eventually it killed me. It's similar to something I experienced before on MG-42s on Port-en-Bessin (which I think other people experienced as well).

Just thought I'd report it!
