Planet 51 (2009 movie) on local cinema
by Jorge Blanco and other 2 guys (A Spaniard movie)
starring (voices) Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, and others

A reversed plot of typical alien movie where the human space explorer now become the "alien" (literary). It is complete with all of the 50's hysteria and paranoia over alien stuff. The most expensive movie made in Spain. It promised too much i say.
When you saw 3D animation movie, you expect good jokes and something that makes a good laugh. But this movie is pretty plain in that department. Using too much cultural references as the source of a joke (some are good, some are done badly).
Oh, and if you have kids, this movie is good, because it keeps them from asking why and why repeatedly as the film is quite bland and pretty self-explanatory.

I give it a modest 4.5/10, i'm kind because this movie, unlike other good animation movie like Wall-E, doesn't make the kids go noisy.

Star Trek

- Good Movie, great rebirth of an sci-fi American staple
- Nice effects
- Didn't like that it went away from original story, and the villain didn't have the greatest motive

8/10

Hell yeah, I'm with you on the rating. Gods knows I have always hated Star Trek but damn this movie was fine!

Live long and prosper

Lawrence of Arabia
- Another David Lean epic this weekend. At the moment, I gotta say i preferred Doctor Zhivago. But, both of them are indeed great epic's with amazing stories and actors.

Peter O'Toole is amazing as T.E. Lawrence and Omar Sharif just as awesome as in Doctor Zhivago.

Ultraviolet. Some blood disease and vampires and OTT special effects, total crap. But I watched it all the way through, Mila Jovovich is in it   ;)

Are you saying it is good or bad?  Because I though it was sweet.

The Searchers
- Classic western with John Wayne. One of the better ones. Very typical early Hollywood western but without being too corny.

Watched Che's both parts and damn gotta say they were damn good movies, especially the first one, but the second didnt leave me cold either. Was very nice watching a movie spoken in spanish rather than in the same old english. Benicio Del Toro did an impressive performance as Ernesto Guevara.

Zombieland

Now i hate zombie movies that tend to be a dime a dozen these days - And mostly almost-B movies

But I loved the humour in this one - 1001 ways to kill zombies... Storyline was thin, but it was quite the ride

Brings out the teenager in anyone who sees it, IMO.. kinda like Transformers 2... And this one was wittier with the dialogue - Most original part was the section with Bill Murray... Dark, but funny as heck - Characters you can actually appreciate... Especially both fellas - Gals were a bit 'chick-dramaish'

7.5/10
