Being a Highpinger
« on: 01-05-2010, 14:05:18 »
Hi.

I'm from China and it's always 300+ ping when I connect to German populated servers.I heard that FH2 Toolbox can compensate the lag cause by the ping.I want to ask how to do it?Just start the game with FH2 Toolbox?

In the toolbox there is an option I think in the GS options to compensate lag.

Or try this:

Try this tip from kev4000:

In battlefield 2/mods/FH2/settings/usersettings.con (open in notepad), you can use the following settings:
SettingsManager.U32Set GSExtrapolationTime 600
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 50
This is what I use for my 200 ping. You can also modify them real-time in console to optimize it for your own ping, via trail/error. Try specifically to notice it when turning and zooming, you'll see how the game tries to compensate the camera's rotation. This is real bad on Dice's part - never should the server control your camera's rotation/position.

Well, what parameters should I set for these two when I'm 300 PING?

SettingsManager.U32Set GSExtrapolationTime 400?
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 33?

After some googles it seems I should just change this

SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.300000

You can change the settings ingame using the console. The console can be brought up with the ~ key.
Do some trail and terror to find out which best suit you.
