How important spotting an enemy tank could be
« on: 14-04-2010, 18:04:06 »
For those who don't have a proper weapon to kill enemy tanks, spot them as much as you can, these spot messages are too important for tankers.Actually while I'm in a tank, I always keep an eye on the spot information and kill-messages in order to find out where's the enemy and what are they doing, then I could somehow find the best way to kill them. With your spot information, tankers can find the best road and appear on the enemy's ass or just waiting them on one side of a crossroad as you know they're approaching on the other side by the spot, or even, do something like this ;)

Please SPOT, SPOT, SPOT!!!

Nice video and I totally agree, although you might not get points it sure helps your team winning the round.

in the only clan war our plan played in fh2 we dint have much of a plan or even experienced players.
but the players knew the game mechanics.

this was shortly after 2.0 release
we played 8vs8 on supercharge 32

now since 1 guy never really played the game he just was scouting.
using scout kit + binocs and called in all enemy tank movement via minimap (and of course team speak too)

this way our team had the like an intelligent "wallhack"  enabling us to outflank enemy tanks with ease and stop infantry assaults in their tracks.

spotting is important
but dont spam it ;)

It is important. Especialy on the allied team. This way regular sherman forces can avoid these german bigcats, while Tank destroyers like the M10 or Firefly know their position and flank them/ambush them

I somehow get the feeling this entire thread was for that video.

But yes, if you play in a tournament especially, you've gotten this speech before. Spotting is key for your tanks to perform well.

Good spotting can make average tankers great tankers because 90% of the work is done for them, which is a big part of the transition from tanking in FH1 to FH2.

Any class with binoculars or any vehicle/emplaced gun can call Q-spots that show up on the map. Use that tool as much as possible, its one of the biggest assets to team play in FH2.

Lesson 101: Spot following
Lesson 102: Fog shooting.
Michael Wittmann's gunner, Bobby Woll, was known to be an excellent Marksman.
He could hit targets at range even on the move.

The opposite applies with tank spotting as well ...

enemy armour can be avoided by those not equipped to deal with it, especially useful for diverting infantry assaults on flags, even more so when the cap radius is a fenced in no-vehicle zone.
