I just want some advices how to blow a tiger using infantry weaponry!
So I'm looking for softspots (German armour doesn't have one ;D , jk ) and some useful tips like satchel or piat;
gebalte or panzerfaust/schreck etc.
So let's get it started, shall we?
-
Shoot on hull sides, if you can't land shots on roof. Satchel is useless, does some dmg, but too little to be thread to it. Those are my experiences mostly.
-
Shoot the side of the tracks. The rear is quite thick (80mm).
Actually those tracks should make something around of 70ish mm instead of 60 as we have now. But then destoying a tiger with handheld AT would be a pain.

You have to shoot 4 times with piat at those spots ( piat has just 4 projectiles if you miss one you can't kill it )
You can also kill the tiger tanks with captured panzerschreck 1 to tracks and 1 more to side or rear hull it doesn't matter but as an insurance don't shoot the turret ;)
-
Yeah I managed to destroy one tonight with 3 piat shots and one panzerschreck ;D
-
Spot it and wait for a firefly/achilles/typhoon/sherman 76mm/hellcat/thunderbolt/mustang/artillery. ;D

Hehe best tip sofar.

1. Take the 6pdr at Arty Battery flag
2. Wait for a Tiger and Panther to circle the hedgerow in order to attack the flag from west instead of east
3. Skirt along the southern side of the hedgerow with your 6pdr
4. While Panther and Tiger are spawnraping the flag, exposing their side and rear armour, emerge from the bushes
5. ? ? ? ?
6. PROFIT!

Facing a tiger as infantry?
My advice : DON'T !
-
You better now mess with it, even with a PIAT it toke your 4 shots (Unless you top shoot it)
You know, when the Tiger gets angry, he litter one HE shell on the ground next to him, you'll are dead.
If I were to give you AT tips, that is don't fire at the Tiger unless you are sure that you are firing from somewhere unexpected, as he had many chances to kill you. Of course, if you have like 3 guys with PIAT the Tiger is nothing. The PIAT is so deadly to whatever stuffs when used properly... (I haven't shot down a plane with it yet...though)
If you're using a zook? I dunno. Never tried.
-
You guys are all thinking short-term. Bad bad !
If you are lone infantry with ANY kind of anti tank weapon, your #1 task is to :
1) Distract
2) Annoy (leads to #1)
3) Do any kind of damage
4) If possible, kill
I have seen so many scenarios where I annoy a tiger up to the point he is only trying to kill me. Attention diverted, a M10/Firefly or any other tank manages to sneak up and destroy him.
Other scenario is - I hit him with PIAT/Satchel/Zook, even if I only do 25% damage that's fine. The next best tank will have less armor to chew through increasing the chance of him going down.
Even better, many tigers will do any of the following when receiving some damage :
A) Drive back to cover for repairs (vulnerable to airplanes, infantry)
B) Drive around looking for you, waisting time
C) Panic
Either way, the tank is temprorarely or permanently not doing what it's good at : killing all our tanks!
So, my advice if you're a teamplayer : Do any kind of damage and distraction to the tank, unless you are a squadleader or of vital importance as single infantry unit (e.g. only unit behind the lines, able to cap flags etc etc).
We need to get this individual, point-scoring mentality out of FH2 :'(

But why are tracks most vulnerable? Doesn't really make sense...
-
Nice tips!
Keep it going ;D

Well it does. Xmm of tracks is far less resistand than Xmm of steel plate. Although the tracks are a bit too voulnerable right now if you ask me.

Shooting tracks may make it immobile, but certainly wouldn't destroy it, as it is now. Would be nice if tracks were weak, and could be easily damaged with weaker AT weapons, but there would be some sort of max damage cap, so that it won't blow up for one shot to tracks...
-
tracks form extra barrier against AT weaponry, but the chassis behind the tracks is actually thinner, so rounds penetrating in the track area could well have a good chance to destroy the tank, not only immobilize..

When tank is immobilized in the battlefield = useless. It would just be HUGE sitting duck, thats how it is in real life. It would be easy to flank and it wouldn't be able to continue the attack. In games like FH though immobilized tank wouldn't be such a big deal. Tracks being the most vulnerable simulates this pretty well, thats what infantry tries to do, stop the tank.

And I need TWO landmines to kill it?
We used the Tiger on Matruh line to clear the city of mines ;D

I agree that spotting the Tiger is the best option - using the Scout Binoculars...
1) You give other team members with Anti-Tank weapons a true idea of where the Tiger is at; giving a split-second advantage where it counts.
2). You can call in Arty (which I'm not sure if it will damage the Tiger); but will make the Tiger move (and be on the run); as two or three Arty in the same place denot to the Tiger that he's been spotted.
If you don't use the Scout Binoculars, I've found it's too easy to get pawned by a Tiger hiding under good cover; or by panzerfausts, and/or the Tiger's team spotting you way ahead of time. On a loaded server, a skilled person is typically piloting a Tiger - a skilled person on a squad. That squad is likely marking your tank already; and has panzerfausts between you and the Tiger.
All in all, Tiger hunting is really a team effort. If you don't have the Binoculars, at least say to the team where he is using the coordinates... i.e. "Tiger at C7 - heading west, etc." If any German tanks are spotted regularly (via Binoculars) - I typically have no problem killing them via Firefly.

A bazooka shouldnt cause a problem with Tigers, but for the PIAT gunners, it is a bit tricky.
I advise to stay in the bushes, and follow the opposite way the tiger turret is moving.
For tiger tankers, the best tactic when under PIAT fire is NOT to search for the guy shooting you. Just hit the pedal and race out of their.

I just spam HE, works best IMO. You kill them, they can't follow toy and they wont have the time to shoot as many rounds as if I ran.

Yes, but you should get out their first ASAP. Then you can spam HE. because if you stay on your position, and search around first, then you are dead.
Or things like this happend. First i killed a tiger who remained stationary somewhat and i finished him off with PIAT.
Second tiger, IIRC, remained their aswel searching for me. I was able to get a second satchel on him, finishing him off (he was damaged)

Tiger tanks are good, but when you are under infantery attack=Run then retaliate
-
Aha, you sneaky bastard. I ordered my whole fireteam to hunt you from those bomb craters near that tiger 8).
-
I have NEVER killed in Tiger by an infantry man, except in 2.15 by AT mine. Usually shot by Achilles or teamkilled by 88. If i have lost 50% health then I retreat until that I ain't moving anywhere expect forward.

Almost killed it yesterday in FHT battle with a piat...I got it burning but last shot went to the top without blowing it up for some reason :(
