I played Italians because of that seemingly impact-fused Bomba-a-mano grenades.

They are fun!  ;D

FORZA!

yes! they are quite strange....i find them funny too!

I'll show you the other ones soon. A fucile di Fanteria 1891 long infantry rifle built in 1894! But in PERFECT condition

And a Moschetto modello 38 in 7.35x51. One of the modello's wich where sold to Finland.

Wow! where did you find them? were they expensive?

I found them in Belgium. And they where not expensive. Carcano is shunned here by mauser and lee enfield fanboys. Calling it a useless piece of shit and such :(

This is however, good for prices. I am one of the few who bought carcanos  ;D

I payed 220 euro for my Fucile di fanteria 1891
160 for my modello 38
And 220 for my Modello 41

Does the supposedly weaker Carcano have any difference ingame vs other rifles?

Not really. The 6.5x51 had problems with lethalithy on ranges of 1000 meters IRL, but that cant be reflected into FH2

I actually just shot my Carcano M1891 (mfg in 1897) today! I love the thing. Although most Mannlicher based actions have a long reach to work the action (reaching up to the bolt handle), they are very sturdy. I am getting a M1891 cavalry carbine later this week.

In my own ballistics tests (involving bricks, sandbags, and quite a few other things) the 6.5x52mm round is just as effective as something like 8x57mmJS (used in things like the Gew. 98 rifles and many others), the 7.62x54R (Mosin-Nagant) and .303 British. The only downside to the Carcano series rifles was the Mannlicher en bloc magazine. While being faster to reload, it couldn't be single loaded and was an entry point for dust and dirt. Even my refurbished M1891 had some sand left over in the magazine from Africa (in the grease of course).

While some dare to diss on the italian faction for the typical stereotype reasons... You will find that many in this community love to play with the italians. And consider it a challenge to play with them.

Me being one of them. I have always had a fond for the italian army of WW2. The carcano family was the first family of rifles i collected(My collection being the Carcano fucile di fanteria 1891, Fucile di fanteria M41 and Moschetto Modello 38). And i always search for italian goodies of WW2 and WW1 on militaria fairs.

Here is one of my beauties

Definitely a gun I'd wanna take to the range, but I don't have the money for a WWII collection, let alone a proper collection.

Are the FH dev's ever going to do an Anzio or Monte Casino or any other Italian map? That and the Pacific theater as well as Opperation Market Garden are the only things missing after 2.5 for this to be really complete :D

For Monte Cassino the map should have the Polish faction.
