Too bad it was a joke. Only if you will guess the real name of the battle you will get more pictures ;)
But this can be every village in whole eastern Europe.Too random. So that means you need to give us another pic that we can use ;D

Looks to like spring or summer. Is October in russia already  winter?

This is around:
Battle of Poltava
Battle of Orel 1943
Belgorod-Kharkov operation
Battle of Dnjepr

No, and that's pretty random indeed. Why?

According to the tale, Potemkin erected his villages along the Dnieper. Therefore, I speculate that in one form or another, the map depicts some part of the Lower Dnieper Offensive, in particular the river crossings. Most likely it has no relation whatsoever to my ancient suggestion thereof (thanks to imageshack for deleting my images).

Maybe Kelmola.
Then again, It may just be my attempt at a clever way of saying the village looks totally generic.

Yes, map is pretty generic, but that's the point. It's a conquest map, representing a part of a bigger front in 1943. Also, river crossings are the key words, yet we talk about different river. Keep it coming  ;)

Then it can be part of Donbass Strategic Offensive, which involved crossings of Donetsk and Mius rivers.

Yep he said it incloudes big scale. I would say

-Something like crossing donetsk river and fight with 1.Panzerarmee
-Or crossing river Kal'mius and attack at Stalino
-or retreat over river/breaktrough of traped german XXIX korp

I didn't say that. Map itself isn't heavily scaled down, even though it kinda remind some of the FH2's NA maps in some aspects. It portrays just a small part of a bigger thing... Anyway, both of you are on to something here. I will consider posting more screenshots later ;)

Damn, I thought you were fooling us and that the conquest map was Prokhorovka, and the river was the Psel.  :P

If you post any photos, one showing the river would be nice. If it is indeed the Mius, one bank should be steeper than the other, and should have forward-slope positions.
