Modding / [AT Mine] French Mle 1936

Hello there, lately I have been really getting into modeling and texturing. So I took a bunch of tutorials ranging from modeling to uvw unwrapping. Like some people, I never really took a serious look at poly + tri count. That will come later, right now I am just getting the main frame of it done.

I got started with the French anti tank mine, namely "Modele 1936 AT Mine". Hopefully in the future I can place some neat decals on this and get the model in FH2! :)

Modding / First Attempt at Static Modelling

Hello! I have had 3ds Max for a little while. Like many people here, I started with Toddel's simple open house, and I decided to start more complex static modeling! There have been past models I have made, but they definitely are not considered a "model", because they are just that bad.

Today I thought I would share one of my statics in 3ds Max. Some of the texture maps (rock, shingles)) are complete with Diffuse, Specular, and Normal maps. Also, I thought I cut down the poly count reasonably. Plus this one is fully enterable.

That being said, I tried to base this one off one of FH2's French houses. I hope it resembles to you.

The stone side below seems to be a bit lighter than the above one, perhaps Specular issues?

This model is definitely far from over, everything is work in progress. Hope you give some feedback below, go easy though. :)

I cannot believe it! He will be truly missed. Father of the Ak47 and all variants.

His early life he was in the T34 tank crew, but he got severely injured. After that he worked on the road to the AK47.

He died because of poor health.

I just found this! :)
Project Reality is moving to the Cry ENGINE 3 (same engine as Traction Wars and Festung Europa).
Plans are to make it a standalone and free to play,.

Most Q&A:
"When will the internal testing begin"? ---> Only 2 months away (as of the same time posting this)

"Is it going to be free"? ---> Absolutely and a standalone, so you do not have to install BF2, patch it etc..

"How big will the maps be"? ----> About the same size as regular BF2:PR maps

Gaming / Verdun - WW1 FPS Game

I just found this fantastically fun game called "Verdun", it is set in World War I time.
It might not have the best realism factors, but the times I have played it, it's so addicting! :)
I think it is standalone and free to play multiplayer game.

Currently it is in open beta ready for download.

FH2 Help / Support / FH2 - Forced to Desktop By No Program

Hello all.
Over the past month i have been experiencing "forced to desktop" while playing FH2 into about 30 min or an hour, it does not crash to desktop it just forces me to the desktop by no program. It's not uncomfortable playing its just that, for example, i fly an airplane then it forces me to desktop while flying (then later i crash ::))

I just thought what could it be?

Hello guys, i hope you can help me how to or what program to use to make these photos inside the photo? :D

Currently i am trying to make a "Soldier's Manual" of FH2 (a companion to the "Player's Guide") > http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=19045.0
The only thing thats left of it is the "opening" of the PDF.

See here, how do you make that partial "rip" part on the edges of the photo? I am trying to make something similar to this but this is the FH1 Soldier's Manual's opening picture.

Some of you may have noticed that Christie.Front.Drive has been working on a FH2 Player's Guide. It came to my attention over the past couple weeks that we really should make two parts of this.
I thought about naming it the "Almanac", before i named it Soldier's Manual (the Almanac sounds, or fits the description a whole lot better. Christie agreed about the idea. I am not saying that i am going to replace the "Player's Guide", but i am just saying that we will have "two" parts (or 2 PDFs). For example,   

* The Player's Guide will contain "tactics", "how to spot for arty" etc... (more like "how to's")

* The Almanac will contain tank and aircraft specifications, automobile specs, stationary weapon specs, map layouts (loading music etc..). It will also contain kits/classes for each country, and it will have handheld weapons specs etc...

You guys can chip in a bit if you want, but it really is almost done. I literally spent 5 months making my part, so i am basically burnt out. ;) All thats really left is words explaining or a biography about the tank, aircraft, automobiles etc...
Also Christie, if you have any "specifications" let me know. :D

* New things planned:

* Armies recognition and specs ("may result in less teamkills") ;)
* Add more chapters
* Try to fix more stretched images
* Replace the FHmod.org swapped photos with "ingame" FH2 photos (for vehicles)
* Fix addition errors

Suggestions / Tank Hit Effect

Hello all,  :D

 I have been thinking that when you are in a tank. Then an opponent fires and hits you with a anti-tank shell (or a PIAT/Bazooka/Panzerfaust), and there really is no "violent" impact or shock when you are in your tank.

 For an example, On Totalize i was in a Flak 18 "88", then a Tiger I comes rolling through the bushes i fire my AP shell at its side, it hits the Tiger but its like it does not "feel" it (but i do know there is some shock to it). Then the Tiger blasts me easily. So the Tiger feels like "king" instantly.

 Bottom line is i am saying that the "tanking" system should have, if you want to call it "violent impact" or
"shock" when you are in a tank and then get hit by a shell and Pz faust/PIAT/Bazooka.

(i am pretty sure that no one has posted this before, if someone did, Flippy you know what to do ;))

I have been reading books about WW2 stuff and one thing that caught my attention was the British QF 3.7in AA Gun. Which is basically the equivalent to the German 88mm Flak.
Just a suggestion, they were used in El Alamein also.

Hello players, of course FH2 Devs  :)

I have been thinking that Operation Cobra does not have the 16 player version. So i have been thinking would this be cool if this was the scene:
United States coming down the hill (from the flag Trainstation), then have say two flags - one at church and the other at the southern side.

Then Germans spawn at airfield

I know Devs you are probably working on the Eastern Front and others stuff that needs to get done but this would be quite cool..
