Its time to update my dad`s old gaming machine. I would like some advice on what i should do.

Current System
OS:Win xp 32bit
Procesor:AMD Athalon Dualcore 4600+ 2.41 GHz
RAM:2 GB Ram
Power Supply:SmartPower 450watt
Motherboard:ASUS M2N-SLIdeluxe

He was looking at Maybe getting a Nvidia GTS 250 and more ram.
He is willing to spend some money but not overboard.
Thanks in Advance.

If your dad ain't too scared of ATI you could also think about getting either HD4850 or HD4870 (both are cheap and powerful cards). And just so you know GTS 250 is just rebranded 9800 GTX so its not a real G200 card.

GTX275 is a brilliant card, if you like ati go for the HD4890. Althoug I do believe it is recommended to have a 500 W power supply for those cards. But I've never put much stuck in those claims. As long as you're not running an insane amount of optical devices or HDDs it should work on a 450 W PSU.Both cards should be in the same price range with the HD4890 being slightly better in most games. Don't think upgrading your ram will gain you much performance as you're still running Win XP.

PS. I finally ordered a new PC. Cost me the same amount as a 14 day holiday to southern France but it will be worth it (I hope). Oh yeah I'll finally be able to play FH2 on high settings. :D

You can get a 14day holiday in southern France for under 280€???
Awesome please send me the details of your travel office! (j/k)
--------------------------------------------------------------
This approximately what I bought in my last upgrade that lets me play FH2.2 all maxed out:

Mainboards AM2
Asrock N68-S
€ 37,99*

CPU AM2 Athlon X2
AMD Athlon64 X2 5200+ (Art.-Nr.: HEEA69)
Athlon64 X2 5200+ (2x 2700 MHz)
€ 57,90*

RAM DDR2-800
GeIL DIMM 4 GB DDR2-800 Kit (Art.-Nr.: ICIE8O)
DIMM 4 GB DDR2-800 Kit (4096 MB)
€ 35,99*

GPU ATI Radeon HD4000
PowerColor HD4870 PCS (Art.-Nr.: JCXOU5)
HD4870 PCS (ATI Radeon HD4870)
€ 134,90*
 -------------------
That makes € 273,73 for a PC that can max FH2. :)

I just saw that your motherboard might handle the CPU as well, so you can save the 40€ for the mainboard.
