The day the earth stood still The story wasnt very original, but still quite good. I like these movies where earth stand on the brink of destruction. 8/10

Sorry if this is a bit redundant, but it is a remake of the 1951 original. That one might be worth it to check out as well. And The Island is one of my 21st century guilty pleasures. Recently I rewatched it in HD and it's still a very fun ride. It's the thinking man's Michael Bay movie! ;-) Okay, like you said, the second half is more "Michael Bay" than "thinking man's" but it's all so enjoyable, with cool actors (Scarlett even looks hot in a tracksuit), a cool story and, that deserves a mention - even though I hate the man, Michael Bay just knows how to make a movie look good.

And Babylon AD, pffff, what a perfectly good waste of Michelle Yeoh that was. What on earth was The Queen Of Kick Ass doing in that movie? It felt like a bunch of good ideas without a story. Even Diesel deserves better than this.

The 1951 original of T.D.T.E.S.S was included when i bought the movie, and i will surely check it out sooner or later. Im more a fan of good stories than special effects, so i really should watch it soon. Many things were awesome in the new movie, but maybe i most liked this huge invincible robot. What a good weapon  :)

Death Race 2 (4/10)
Oh my, where to start?! It's supposed to be the prequel to Death Race and tries to capture a bit of the 1970s Death Race 2000 (which I would give a solid 7/10) flair, but imo it fails on both ends. It has story gaps and the characters are such breadboard cutouts, that a slight gust of wind can push em over. Even the Trejo can't help the movie with such bad writing...

Ultramarines (8/10)
Now this is finally an enjoyable movie! A must see for all WH40K fans and animation fans, it could have been a bit longer and I was longing for more major battles than just a platoon of Marines facing down the enemy, but still it made everything right. And the voice-actors are top notch! I'm buying the BR once it comes out in Germany in the hope that they make many more WH40K animation or real life movies! :D
The Ultramarines are too clean for my taste, for the next instalment I want to see the novel Helsreach made into a movie! The Black Templars vs Orks are a must see! It would even mean Titans! Yeah baby! ^^

Endless Love
- Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt, in love in the last year of High School and things go bad.

Three points automatically for Brooke Shields being ridiculously hot and showing her nipple from time to time other than that it's just one point.

4 out of 10

Wait no, the song Endless love is also in this so it's another score:

3 out of 10

All the right moves
- Tom Cruise as an aspiring young football player in a working class small town in Pennsylvania. Our protagonist is struggling to survive the last months of High School to get a scholarship but after a important game things turn bad.

The plot is OK and could have really been something good but it doesn't go all the way and just gets cheesy.

4 out of 10

Damn, it happened again. I didn't even post it and already have to add something:

Cruise girlfriend in this flick is pretty hot and there's a pretty OK sex scene with some kind of nipples in it.

So...

5 out of 10

@NTH - I've always wanted to see a really good WH40K movie, I mean come on, there's at least a saga in there to tell... hundreds of fans who would happily take part for free? Makes sense.  Their CGi cut-scenes are some of the best I've ever seen.

The Expendibles.
------------------------
4 - 10, not sure really what the fuck this movie was about.  It's clearly written by a moron.  I was expecting a movie like that of the A-Team, where it's so unbelievably high-octane that you forget picking plot holes and just sit back and enjoy it for the LOLs,  ... The Expendibles does not deliver.  Weak storyline, far too many stock shots of Slyvester Stallones toys, we all like motorbikes and planes with chain guns, but one shot is enough thanks.  Even Mikey Rourke, failed to deliver, his dialogue/part suited him, but his emotional retorts were so out of fucking context I wanted to shit and throw it at my TV.

My advice, rent the A-Team, win movie.  Or, Johnah Hex just so you can pretend to dick it up Megan Fox in a basque.  Or the Loosers.  Both the A-Team and the Loosers are twice the move that the Expendibles is.
HadrianBT - Why the hell would "Germany" attack pigmy ppl??!!
Thorondor123 - I agree that people are not wearing enough hats

Restrepo
- Documentary about an American platoon in the Korangal Valley in Afghanistan. Just as good as Armadillo but from the American point of view. Worth a watch.

- So, Ridley Scott. And Tom Cruise. As an elf. Unicorns as well.

5 out of 10 (Mainly because of the unicorns)

True Grit 7/10 - cool with a little girl as main character (good acting) awesome Jeff Daniels! very nice dialogue, typical Coen brothers feel overall.. Josh Brolin should have gotten some more screen-time.

Conviction 8/10 - One of my new favorite actors Sam Rockwell doing awesome job together with Hilary Swank. a must-see

Snow - de niro + edward norton = win... milla jovovich finally back in a good film!! 7/10

Coen brothers are my favourites, can't wait 'till True Grit hits the cinemas here on February 11.
