Yeah but it's one thing to give the Japs the experimental Type 5 and the MG42, and a completely another thing to arm all the armies with semi- and full auto weapons as if it were completely normal for the 1914-1918 war. That's just wrong.

Also, remember when the wildlings attacked the wall? Remember that giant who shot a Night's Watch brother with an arrow and sent him flying down to castle black?
He had a bow and arrow you see.
Now why was it so hard to give Mr. Wun Wun a log, a spear, a club, or just a bunch of rocks for him to hurl at the Bolton's Bastard's army? Or that giant bow, for that matter? Could've nailed Ramsay from the get-go.
Or give him some armor at least? Yes, I know, he's a big motherfucker, but they did have the time and the steel to make it. Some northern house might have helped.

Seriously, could she not have told Jon about the fucking relief cavalry incoming and therefore save hundreds of lives? Since that is the main goal of this expedition, right? As Davos put it, "Unifying the North for the only war that matters, between the living and the dead".
Now, the only army standing is the Vale army, under Littlefinger who is free to blackmail the both of them. So all in all, Stannis and his army perished, Bolton's Bastard's army perished, Snow's army (or whatever that was) also perished, and now who's gonna take on the Others? Wasn't THAT the endgame?
But yeah she just thought it would be cool for her to do a little "deus ex machina".

Yep, everyone is equipped with an MP18 or a Madsen LMG, shotguns and some weird semi-autos everywhere. Semi-auto sniper rifles, fast-firing dual purpose guns (at/aa), A7V and british Mk Vs rushing at 30mph, FT17 and some armored cars. Pre-alpha shows a total lack of trenches or positional warfare, it's fast like the US offensive in Iraq, 2003.
The damage is ridiculous and you need multiple rifle shots to the body for a kill, everyone has a parachute...
There are weird "experimental" scopes mounted on rifles, there's a general lack of dug covered positions, everything (on that one map) is above ground, and there's an AC-130. I mean the Zeppelin.

Nah, it turned out that it was registered as an "old" firearm, which meant I couldn't shoot it...so I gave up. Might as well have gotten me a deactivated repro for that.
Basically, if you register something as an "old" firearm, you can't buy, possess or manufacture ammo for it, and you can neither shoot it nor carry it. So I would've bought myself a really expensive wallhanger. And it'd have to be in a gunsafe so not even eyecandy.
Though the ad is still up and the guy lowered the price, if I change my mind I'll inquire more about it.
It's not deactivated, it's still functional. But as I said, it's no use.

One question for Mauser K98 fans/owners. I plan on acquiring one soon, and I've seen an ad selling a Mauser K98 marked byf 43. The price is set at 281 € ($322). The seller provided 2 pictures, as follow:
Of course, I plan on examining the rifle up close once I contact the seller, I just wanted to ask for an advice on what to look for in a K98 (to prove it genuine and/or its parts in good condition).
