There's new challenge mode for SP and Co-op as well as a new testing track (set of chambers) on Co-op.

Going to fire up a little co-op later on tonight with the wife.
That's a good idea, I just need to get her to take a break from Fate of the World.

..an update for the Beta has been released and the following statement:
Quote
    [TW]Wilsonam:

''We've just updated the RO2 Beta with test fixes for the stats issues and for the no-sound bug.

We want to get some volume testing on the stats fix - tested ok in small numbers in the office, but needs volume testing. If you still have the beta installed, it should update automatically. Please report any problems you find with the stats IN THIS THREAD. But please do watch the numbers carefully - we don't need lots of "I'm sure that wasn't right, but I can't remember"
I wondered why my RO2 beta had re-appeared in my Steam games list!

Also, i know i am decent, but not this decent, anyone else having this problem?

*Pics*

All in under half an hour....
Yeah, I had a similar thing: 7 awards all at Sep 18, 2011 6:50pm, including 3 tanking ones when I've not used a tank since the beta! I also apparently completed the campaign at Sep 17, 2011 1:39pm on Recruit, Soldier and Veteran levels...

Just had some great rounds on Grain Elevator. Good teamwork in my squad despite there being no communication at all! Plus, I'm finally getting used to the rifles ;)

I definitely am not part of their intended playerbase. I get annoyed by things that kill me when I cant see them and have no means of responding to them. I dont mind dying, I just like dying while fighting, not get killed by some pixel in the other side of the map. :)
I find it just makes actually killing someone all that more rewarding :)

As Krad says, the game has a learning curve: the first few lives I played as if I was playing FH2 - running from cover to cover and not carefully checking before I emerged into the open each time, consequently I died. A lot. Now I'm much more cautious and have become a lot better at picking out threats which means I last longer and usually manage to bag at least one before I get killed.

Trying to join a server seems to break my internet connection at the moment - it joins, shows the score list but I can't spawn and there's no-one on the map when I look round in free-cam. Then when I quit I can't load web pages etc.

Managed to play some rounds last night on Apartments though - after being killed instantly for the first few lives I got teamswitched (instant minus score :( ) and then seemed to get the hang of the game. Some great and tense moments fighting within the buildings! The bullet penetration through walls etc is going to take some getting used to though...

@siben - I also get that problem after "joining" a server (see above) and then disconnecting and going back to the server browser - 3k+ people playing but 0 servers.

Flyboy, AFAIK the langauge settings can be changed. Standard is that your team speaks English with a matching accent, while the enemy speaks his native language. Therefore it´s easier to understand what your teammates say.
You could say that it makes the game more realistic. If you were a Russian soldier you would be able to understand your native language (Russian) but not German, therefore when I play as Russians I'll hear my native language (English) and German (which I understand a lot less). If you look at it like that then the setting makes sense.

Well, I can forgive that then ;) Plus if the map is meant to represent the latter battle, then we can always say that the two StuG's were transported in time. ;)
Nope, I'm afraid it's the earlier battle (i.e. the British push on Caen, before Operation Charnwood)... ;)

Please remind me again, why is there a StuG on this map? Of the units in 21st's TOE at the time, Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 200 did not have StuG's, but Marder I's f all three variants: Lorraine, H38/39, FCM; plus a few 10,5 cm  leFH 18 on those chassises as well. Panzerjäger-Abteilung 200 did not have StuG's either but towed 88's.
It's probably because I just read "Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 200" when I was researching and instantly thought StuG. Did you also know that there is no chateau at Lebisey, neither is there a church...

Off-Topic / Re: The Book Club - 2011

I´m currently reading "War without Garlands" by Robert Kershaw. It´s a detailed descritption of the first phase of Operation Barbarossa and so far I really like it. Like in his other books about Op. Market Garden and Op. Overlord he concentrates mainly on the Germans, but also writes about how the Allies have experienced the Operations. His books always contain veterans accounts of the events and it gives you an interesting in-sight how the soldiers back then experienced the combat and everything around it.
The only thing I didn´t like about his books so far, were the not-so detailed maps. Except for that I highly recomend Kershaws books for everyone interested in these important events in the 2nd WW.
I'm reading War Without Garlands at the moment. It is very interesting and the personal touch of letters, diaries and interviews bring the events to life in a gritty, poignant way. The maps do lack detail but I don't think this detracts from the book as it doesn't seem to concentrate on exact movements, unit number etc, rather it concentrates on the individual soldiers and their experiences. I'm not quite half way through yet (the Germans have only just besieged Leningrad) but I would recommend the book on what I've read so far!

General Discussion / Re: Post your FH2 Screenshots

But why is the 109 strafing the PzIII...? ;)

Hmm, I'm very tempted by the deluxe pre-order at £24...

But why's the standard game only going to be £25 when it's first released when other games are usually £30-35? Does it have a very limited amount of content/maps? (I haven't really read any details about the game at all)
Check out the official ROHOS fact thread, where the community collected all the confirmed features. I would say it comes with a very good amount of content, compared to other games and with full mod support the community will get more and different content, too (and don´t forget that TWI will release new maps and vehicles, for free, later).
Only 2 tanks and apparently no APCs? That might explain it. Though I see they'll be adding more as free DLC...
