Sounds promising. I am glad I rephrased the post. Seems like otherwise it would have been a dead duck.

The only new bolt action we get with 2.2 is the M1917 right?

The Pattern 14, M1917..

And don't forget the 03a4.

That little springfield has got to be the most accurate rifle I've ever used. I was hitting targets at 400+m on our test map. It was beautiful.

Love how much new bits of info we've gotten just by switching forums, and I'm not just referring to the signatures and avatars. I know I've gotten a clearer picture of Normady, and I can't wait to play it now more than ever! :D

Btw, where is Lobo? o_0

That's probably what I miss most. That, and just the lush green surroundings.

I doubt that.

He's most likely oiling in his favourite FH2 weapon collection.

I was just reading up on the subject some more, and realised that the British were the only major power not to have semi-automatic weapons. I wondered why.

Then I found out that the Enfield rifles were VERY reliable, an that British resources were low, and so they stuck to bolt action. And then I came across this:

http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1458354

Turns out a highly skilled soldier was required to fire 15 rounds in 60 seconds at a target 300 meters away. Some even managed to fire 30-35 per minute. Please note, only very skilled.

Too bad a skill system for increasing speed is not possible...

Not actually very skilled.  It was called the mad minute, and almost all brit soldiers trained to do it.  Hell, I can do it with the Enfield, and with my K98k easily.  When you campaign with a rifle, you get to be very skilled with it no matter what.

I'm curious,

Whats the Garand like, accuracy wise?  ;D

I don't like it that much. It jumps around too much. Much more prefer a BAR...can you say 29kills :D

Sounds realistic though.

The Garand has nasty recoil in real life. I much prefer shooting bolt action.

It jumps around irl.  Even blank fire ones, its impossible to keep on target after the first shot if you're trying to do incredibly rapid fire.  That's going to be its downfall at long range.  If you're trying to get off aimed shots at targets, it's just as good as a bolt action.  It'll be the close range where it holds the advantage.
