2.25 Goodwood anyone?
« on: 22-12-2011, 09:12:50 »
Ok, so I am looking for the 2nd version of Goodwood navmeshed by Winterhilf. This map has fallen since 2.3 because I think they added the original winterhilf version which didn't have navmeshes across the rails.

If anyone remembers, German tanks used to pwn on this map, crossing in force and completely routing the allies, almost irrespective of player intervention.

Any chance someone has a link to this map, the original posted by Winterhilf no longer exists.

I should have it somewhere... :-\

I've got a zip with all the files needed to add bot support to Goodwood (incl. GW-16) and Falaise, but I'm guessing that's the original.

I'll have a look on my old PC later.

Any chance you know the name of the file?

Not exactly, but this was the post I think...

Never made it into the build, "better" mesh for Goodwood, playable 16 & 64.

ooh - yer! All tanks spawning at once. That definitely appears to be the one.

Will give it a whirl and see.

thanks so much Aser!

Whats so much better about this files when you compare them to 2.4 ones? Is this recommended for Coop players?

Whats so great about this version is that the german tanks come out in force.
They don't get stuck at the bridge or stall at the tracks and keep comming on till the ABC line.

Not only that, the Spawn distribution makes the tanks at both sides used...often. Unlike the current one where the Germans may never use a single one.

And 'knots' in the current one that cause tanks to sometimes get to the overpass and do 30m reverse and move forward endlessly doesn't exist here. And the few tanks that do cross the overpass as opposed to the rail, do so without hesitation.

You will need to use the updated vehicle loadout though. At the time this map's GPO was made, they hadn't coded the Tiger II as yet, and we hadn't even gotten Drawde's patch for raised artiller, so the nebelwerfer only fires at point blank range.

The navmesh is basically flawless. I dont know why the hell they ever changed it....

This MUST get in the build.

Yeah I'm curious if the bot controlled vehicles getting stuck on tracks/underpasses is being addressed for 2.45. I LOVE Goodwood, but its pretty frustrating to see half the team hanging out in half tracks doing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7yOUz1ZWHY while trying to get through the tunnel.

Another issue I have is that no German tanks spawn at all throughout the entire round. Start of the round to the end, British holding all flags or none, 10 minutes in or 30 minutes in, its the same thing; no German tanks spawn. Is this just for me or has anyone else experienced this?

Have you tried the patch I was looking for? That solves it all.

Obviously, the dev and myself are aware of this problem, hence my asking. So this fix will probably apply for 2.45l.

I see, thanks!

I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page, and I wasn't experiencing something different.

By default, the German tanks will only spawn if both Cagny flags fall into allied team.

The patch has them all spWning at once.

Admitedly simplistic, but with German tanks now pouring across the rails into no man's land,
You could restore classic GPO and Jerry will still route Tommy most times.
