Great job guys!

That commo-rose is much better than the old clunky and obstructing one and it might get much more usage, besides the good old "nein. nein. nein." spam! And the new arty options are awesome, I'm sure they will help
out the teamwork a lot! Can't wait to try out the new and old maps with the improved interface!

A big applause for all the devs who keep this show running, and all the retired ones that helped to make it the best experience in modern gaming!

Sweet Mother of God... AN UPDATE!! 8) (and screen of the week winner :D)

I have off work this Saturday and I was gonna sleep in, but now it looks like I'll be getting up at the ass crack of dawn to storm the beaches with the other Europeans ;) I can't freakin' wait.

I also love the new commo rose you guys set up. It looks a lot more organized and easy to get to the commands I'm looking for now. And the new artillery update is awesome. This just enhances the amount of teamwork that the arty spotting brings to the game, and it gives me a chance to get out of the way when someone accidentally spots a friendly.
 
Can't wait to see what you guys have in store tomorrow  8) great job

News update doesn't show full potential of new commorose. As a tester I've spent massive amount of time only on this subject and I have to say that I like how it's announced now and there is still some room for community to discover few details. IMO current layout is much more immersive and, hopefully, battlefield won't be mute anymore  ;)

It's about time you guys came around, I'm excited as fuck. A couple critiques though about the showcased content. The font on the commo rose, sorry guys, it's ugly. Needs to be changed and have a higher resolution. At the moment it's a bit blurry. For the map icons, I envision them being hard to spot on the map. The dark red HE marker does not contrast well with the dark background. I suggest making it bright orange with a thick black border. The smoke too. Make it white with the black border so it'll be easier spotted on the map. Can't wait for Friday.

Where the hell do you get from me saying that a change is required? I'm trying to provide some constructive criticism with my opinions which I believe to make the mod better and here you come dismissive even though I've said NOTHING wrong. Me wanting PR: WW2 does not make my opinion any less valid than yours. These changes are simple and trivial and not worth fighting over. I know FH2 will never merge with PR but that doesn't stop me from wanting, it has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Also, will custom maps work without need to repack them with scripts (like it was in 2.45 with optimizations in loading kits and vehicles)?

Having read this great news, I finally decided to register on the forums to thank you guys for the incredible work you do!

I follow FH since the old days I can barely remember, back with 0.dontknowanymore. Most of the time I played Singleplayer, but I definitely never got bored with this wonderful mod.

How many times it has to be said that 2.46 won't include any eastern front content? Devs/testers keep repeating it in almost every topic related with upcoming patch for a very long time now.

BMW R75 will be very rare vehicle in 2.46 but there will be early (panzergrau) and africa variant in use. This of course is subject to change and most likely it will be available on more maps in near future.

I think the next patch is a really important step towards eastern front and I think you will notice why it is like that in the upcoming days. This patch is important to get rid of fundamental bugs and tweak some things that were a bit messed up and to build a good base for more stuff to come.

I can't wait to storm the beaches  ;)

2.46 changelog for Pointe du Hoc 32 (German bias!)

  • Farm: moved the American spawning area significantly to the north of the flag, away from the German base.
  • Destroyed Bunker: moved the American spawning area slightly to the north.
  • Flak Emplacement: copied the spawning areas of both teams from PdH 64 (Axis - to the south, Allies - to the north).
  • <YET TO BE ANNOUNCED>

Great news! Only installed 2.45 a week ago but a long time fan & player for 12 years.

Looking forward to the FH2 version of Gold Beach & Omaha. Man I played those maps for hours in 0.7. Never grew tired of playing them, classics! Hope the new maps live up to the legacy left by the originals.

I have a reservation with new comm rose but I'll wait till I play the new version before commenting. If it adds to more team oriented play then it has to be a good thing.

Lastly, I hope there will be servers appearing in Australia, no fun playing on Euro servers with 300+ ping.

I have heard and saw we will receive new animations from the K98, Springfield 1904A4, MG34 (all of the prone weapons can be fired from hip) and at Pointe Du Hoc, on the German side, will get a new assault kit - MP34.

Now that we are very close to release can we have an honest answer?

I'm so happy to be back at Omaha Beach....the best map in FH1.
But I'm even more curious how the new tanking works out....hopefully a Panther comes close to reality now ;)

Did any of the 16 player maps get any love?  Some of them need kit and vehicle changes.  I don't know if kit varients can be changed between map sizes, if they can't then pickup kits are needed badly.  To many maps with k98 anti tank kits vs garands and bars.  I also hope that some of the ways in which arms are attached to some vehicles are fixed i.e. the italian anti tank gun.

I am super excited for this patch though and I can't wait to see what all has changed.

Only on some Normandy maps. Generally speaking the G43 is still vastly more common mod-wide.

In before you, guys, will start blaming me for the changes on the maps, many-many (more than a half) of them were made not by me :)

Not many changes in the mapping workflow, maybe except for maps' Python scripting (mapdata.py) - it's far less forgiving now and protests loudly when encounters something it doesn't like.

Thanks so much for posting those Gavrant, and to everyone who worked on adjusting the maps. I had a good time at work today sneaking peaks at map changes on my cell phone ;) I also can't wait to see some of the changelogs for the Africa maps. I'm highly interested in those 8)
