Punkbuster problems
« on: 12-09-2009, 02:09:39 »
Hi,
I have installed 1.5 then FH2.2 and updated punkbuster, but PB still kicks me out from any server after 1 or 2 minutes and says "restriction: Service Communication Failure PnkBstrB.exe heartbeats stopped"
wtf? what heartbeats?!?!

Do you use any third party program like fraps or TS overlay?
Some are recognized as cheats by PB and will lead to a kick.

Once you play BF2 online, PnkBstrA.exe will start running. After some time, approx after 30 minutes or an hour PnkBstrB.exe will show up. Make sure both get access to the internet. However, it might be that PnkBstrB.exe just crashed or something similar. I got the impression this can happen randomly.

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom

I just read that steam might lead to the same error.

all is happening again, I am clueless... after a minut or 30 seconds I am disconnected. adn this strange info appears with punkbuster, i does not happen in battlefield 2, only in FH 2.2.

I just noticed that it happens also in BF2 :/

I guess i managed to fix it,so anyone who will have this problem do this:
go to your Windows/system32 folder and find PnkbstrB.exe and delete it, then reboot just in case.Start a game and voila, it stops throwing You out of the game.

Most PB problems can be solved by running PBSetup updater and configuring firewall to allow PnkBstrA & B, as alluded by Dukat.

I have experienced a problem going between BF1942/FH1 and BF2/FH2 before though as the files change so the firewall prompts whether to allow again.

Just got kicked from 79th server.

Sorry to dig up old posts but seeming as my problem was relevant.

I keep getting the error: pnkbstrb.exe initialization failed. I've made sure it's not blocked by Windows firewall. I've uninstalled and manually reinstalled pnkbstr and the bf2 updates.. any ideas?

Post ALL of your PC specs please and also explain your problems in much more detail. We would love to help but we need much more information than "I have a problem and it's on my computer"...
