My mother doesnt use the PC much, and she only visits facebook. She used IE

Amount of virusses=50 in 1 year

Amount of virusses i had in the past 3 years with google chrome=Zero nada, noppes, NIX Nothing
And google chrome is regarded as the most vurnable of alternative web browsers

Common sense in the best anti virus system. It is true that many viruses, trojans and whatnot target IE weaknesses, and that the risk of getting something nasty from shady web pages might be bigger whilst using IE. But, if you know what you are doing and don't click every single spam url you wont get viruses.

That is a totally wrong feeling of security you got there.
Every website can be hacked and every server can be hacked and so even legitimate websites can serve viruses.
Just 3 weeks ago a exploit on twitter was used that enabled custom javascript. By just visiting a twitter page you could theoretical get redirected to a "spam url" and there a browser hole could be used to install a virus.

There is not one single website were this couldn´t happen !!
