I lol'd so hard at the first one, because of the music. I recognise where it's from. When you're eight years old, you memorize things. For me it was this TV show Pat & Mat, a Czech stop-motion animation, where two guys find themselves with an everyday problem, build several gadgets that should solve it (in their mind) but usually fail. Check youtube for more info and clips.

Also, what are the third and fourth Russiaball supposed to represent? The second one is supposedly Volga Germans, but the one with the peaked cap and the "Chinese friend"?
