First of all I would like to thank you all responsible for making FH possible and alive after so many years.

I'm glad that Villers Bocage is getting proper attention on SP mode, CTD problem was really annoying, EVEN if it's not totally fixed, I'm happy that something is being made to fix it :)

Hi, I was playing FH 2.47 Single Player mode today, and at Villers-Bocage map, the game just closes itself to desktop. It happens randomly, but usually before 5 min of gaming. It's very frustrating, because no error message is displayed after that happen.
I tried to start the game again 3 times just to be sure, and till now it's only on this map.
Please investigate the problem...

It's not a wrong impression you have. The rifle is inaccurate or the sights are too difficult to use in order to kill on long range. You are not alone with this and as I stated elsewhere even top players stated that they feel the same way.

The thing is, that I don't dislike the rifle being bad/hard to figure out. It had its problems and it was and should be inferior to the G43. Have not played enough with the G41 to come to a final judgement about it, but it needs to be worse than the G43. Anyway, I can agree that on long range it is very very tough to make kills and the rifle feels very inaccurate compared to a G43 or K98, even when the files say something different. Something about it is not like the other rifles and I think it's the sights of the rifle feeling unusual when it's not the coding. Try aiming higher or more like: avoid aiming with the center of the sights like you can do with the G43.

Imagine the very bottom of the G41 sights, at the spot where you pretty much can't see your target anymore is the place the bullet goes. That's what a fellow player suggested to me and I noticed some improvement. I think many people might miss that much with it because they aim it like a G43, as the sights are somewhat similar, while you have to aim slightly differently in the game.

Thanks for this comment, now I can feel that I'm not the only with that feeling about G41, for now it's not a much desirable rifle, when you can grab G43 near you.
I feel like something needs to be fixed, maybe at iron sights design or something to improve it's behaviour, as the weapon damage is the same as G43.

BTW, I like G41's sound, very intense!

I like the G41 especially the sound, but the sights need some work there hard to see.  But I have had no trouble killing anyone when I get them in my sights.

Yeah, maybe is that the reason behind the difficulty I have when want to kill the enemy at medium to long ranges with G41, but with G43 is perfect.

With G43 is simply easier to kill, not sure why, but ok, I will pay more attention to the bullet drop thing and see if solves the problem.

That's strange, never had a similar problem before in FH2.
So according to the files, the weapon range of G41 and G43 is suppose to be the same?

I installed FH 2.46 and then went to play on Purple Heart Line map, with bots but something strange happen.
I selected Germans and my kit was the one that includes Gewehr 41 semi-auto rifle, the weapon sound seems a bit different from previous patch(2.45), but it's ok, the problem seems to be the damage done by the rifle itself, as even at medium range, it's very difficult to kill the enemy, and at long range, it's impossible. I switched to G43 from a box nearby and it was like night and day, as the G43 worked as it suppose to do and I was able to do my job.

So what's happens with G41, looks like an SMG, being difficulty to use at medium-long ranges. :-\

As a SP player of FH2, I'm glad that you guys are working to improve bots behaviour, skill, etc, across the available maps.

Many thanks for the update, Normandy is my favorite "battlefield", and every map about D-Day has a special meaning for me.
I love the weather realism present in the map, the glider, the fields, the water, everything.
By the way, this map will have bot support?

Is it just on the map Anctoville (1944)? If not, sounds like a shaders issue...

I play FH for many months, and only saw this problem yesterday at that map.
By the way, can you check for that bug too, by moving to the same location on the map?

So, like the title says, there is a vegetation bug in Anctoville 1944 map, related to a tree that disappears when I get close, and appears again when I turn away.
