TBH, the actual idea I don't like.  Its basically punishing the opposing team for playing extremely well, by making the map shorter than it should be, thus cutting down on enjoyment for all those guys =/

"France surrenders" -jokes don't work on a forum where most people actually have at least some knowledge in military history.

Yeah French simply will get blitzed before they even get chance to surrender.

Well ... make an option to deny the surrender of the other team then  ;D

actually ... this suggestion is basicly the same as a next map vote; the only difference is that only one team can decide (a bit unfair IMHO)

since nextmap vote is a server setting, this suggestion unnecessary.

solving a leveldesign problem with a "game over" button?... nope.  :-\

There is allready a "surrender" option, it's called map-voting, but there is a reason servers have disabled map voting as it is just annoying with questions popping up in your face when you are playing a game.

Oh come on you two, I've covered that already :

actually ... this suggestion is basicly the same as a next map vote; the only difference is that only one team can decide (a bit unfair IMHO)

My post just above man :P wth ?

solving a leveldesign problem with a "game over" button?... nope.  :-\

It is not realy that the map itself is bad, but rather that the teams are uneven, or the moral is low and the men aren't fighting as they should anymore.

There is allready a "surrender" option, it's called map-voting, but there is a reason servers have disabled map voting as it is just annoying with questions popping up in your face when you are playing a game.

Now, to prevent this from being overused, it would need a big majority like 3/4 of the team, and it probably should be one chance per player to avoid screen spam...

... and moving to the next map is very different from choosing a new map...

When a server get stucked in one map for zillions tickets because one team don't know how to win, people leave and usualy don't come back. Admins aren't always there to do the job and this idea would prevent those situations from happening. Besides, it is a very realistic option.

a) either map map is broken and it needs to be changed to give a team more reenforcements to push through after say 10 minutes of not moving. ex give the ami's an extra tank or something on best if they cant get one of the first line flags.

solving a leveldesign problem with a "game over" button?... nope.  :-\

I win the cookie!!! :)

The map needs to be made so that players dont get stuck if they are trying.  Like the extra spawns for Amis on PdH.

Ehm nein.
I'd rather see the bleed increase with every lost flag to end the game quicker than to artificially increase the chances of the loosing team.
Gravity is a habit that is hard to shake off

Which suck, imho. (the SPs, of course... PdH is great !)

than to artificially increase the chances of the loosing team.

What chances ? If they surrender, they loose... I don't understand.

Changed your mind hey Danny ? :P

Looks like you guys play too much on hslan and don't realise some servers without admins can get stucked pretty hard, especially the (rare) new ones... ::) This is a hard mod for beginners ...

But what you gonna do ...

A map should never get in to this situation, no surrender-button will replace good, basic design. Ever.

^ In theory, yes.  However reality often differs.  I think it's a good idea.

I STILL don't see the difference between your suggestion and the nextmap vote ..... If you allow both teams to decide it simply is the same as a next map vote.
