This could have gone under the funny internet thread.
I LOLed anyhow. ;D
-
heheh I remember people getting all pumped about the Ipad in College when it first came out. Some IT guys and I were talking about-basically what corvax's picture depicts-when a guy with a brand new Ipad in a leather case awkwardly walked up to the desk and asked where he could find a computer with itunes because he couldnt start it up without some sort of activation...
Apple and their computing toys... *shakeshead*

Your Picture Is Missing The Paper Weight Feature!

Actually, I have an iPad. And for the purposes I need a laptop for, IE, taking notes and studying in class, the iPad does all of it, as good or better, and for 1/4 of the cost of my old laptop.... Plus it has great apps and games...so I love it :3

Hmm my laptop cost 1/2 of the Ipad and can run FH2. Can your Ipad do that? ;)
PS: You do know that you have lost per default by admitting to having an Ipad. ;)

I use my imac to play all of the games i can possibly imagine... i dont get the apple vs pc argument.
-
I always thought that the iPad was an iPhone for fat people who cant use touchscreen properly :P

how do you alt fire? Don't Apple (called 'Maggot Boxes' here) Users only have one large index finger on your hands?

Nono this is not about Apple vs Pc, this is about the usefulness of the Ipad. ^^

Well, the iPad is unbeatable in the field it was intended to be. It was not made to compete with laptops in power and speed, it was made to compete in usability and handling. And there, it beats the shit out of everything, and not even the biggest apple haters can deny that. People always compare the ipad to thing which are a totally different category of product. The iPad is like a digital Moleskine. People who own one will know what i mean. A laptop is more like a digital filing cabinet ..
I enjoy my iPad, my iPhone, my Macbook and my iMac. And i never was more bored infront of an electronic device, since i just get my shit done and don't have to fuck around endless times till something works like i want it to ..
Just get over it.
-
but, the iPad does not taste as nice as roast chicken, you cannot deny this Corvax, plox - get over it., iPad sucks as a main meal substitute.
-
Well yeh, thats true. But i dont like chicken anyway :p

Humans are per default bi, so even though I would love to ridicule the pad a tad more, this argument won't pull. ^^

it's easy to be anti-mac/apple if you don't have one of their products. Sure it's much superficial, but they are pretty damn awesome. I love my new iMac.
Once you go Mac, you never go back. That's how I feel right now.

But see that's just the point. It gets compared to other devices not in its class because its COSTS the same or MORE than they do.
Why shell out 500-600 bucks for an Ipad when I can actually a laptop (or desktop) that brings me more functionality? Like something that understands FLASH?? Ok that was a low blow, I'm sorry ... ;D

I´ve got an iPhone 3GS and though it´s fancy and sometimes practical I´m not a big fan of Apple. Their stuff is so damn expensive...I needed a new cable to charge the iPhone and just the damn cable alone cost 20 Euros!
Also I would never swap an iPad for a good middle-class Laptop. Sure, the iPad is fancy and can pull some crazy tricks, but it´s just an overrated and oversized iPhone which can´t even telephone o0
Gimme my Laptop and an UMTS stick anyday...

I switched to Mac because in my field it makes sense. I never understood the whole animosity held by both sides. I run Windows for games and Mac for work/browsing/etc. Best of both worlds, and the iMac is seriously an awesome machine. :)
Also on the whole iPad thing, it is a kind of neat gimmick. My friend has one and I used it for a little while. If you have an iPhone the whole thing is kind of redundant.
-
two three words:
Apple sucks. Amen.
-
No me lady, Apple is just good at selling older stuff at today's prices.
Damn brilliant marketing they got going for them, but I wouldn't expect less, since all creative people were lured to their side. +g+

If you want to only use the software that comes with the computer and never want to try anything new, don't care about games, don't want ever to upgrade your computer instead of buying a new one, and don't mind that you are getting less performance for your money, and want to pay a huge premium, buy a Mac.
If you want to have a MP3/portable media player that requires proprietary software installed on a computer instead of showing up as a USB memory, has limited codec support compared to competitors, and you are not going to DL music or videos outside iTunes like ever, don't want to change the battery yourself, and you want to pay a huge premium, buy an iPod.
If you want a phone that only runs software Steve Jobs considers appropriate for religious fundamentalists (ie. farting simulator is OK, models in swimsuits are not), has less features than competitors, which may not work correctly, don't want to change the battery yourself, and you want to pay a huge premium, buy an iPhone.
If you buy anything by Apple, you are essentially buying stylish design (a matter of taste, though) and ease of use while giving up the full range of use and technical qualities of the end product, all the while paying way above reasonable prices. Also, Apple seems to be moving towards "auto manufacturer" type of business model, in that they charge you even more for the associated services than they do for the product itself, eg. the battery needs to be changed in the official service and in the worst case they simply send you a new iGadget instead (hopefully, you had a backup copy of your precious data!).
If you want Apple iWhatEver for the looks, or are buying it either for your children or technically challenged but wealthy grandparents, go for it. If you want iWhatEver it for the features or consider value for money at all, well...

This is a pretty ridiculous interpretation of things.
You can upgrade Powermacs, and basically many people just buy new computers when they upgrade anyway. Macs have a lot of software you can use natively, but of course you probably would not know about any of it. I mean hurf durf macs have some hardware limitations that obviously a large amount of people do not consider that terrible.
Seriously there are good arguments against buying a mac, and you do not have to sandwich them in utter nonsense. The biggest thing is that basically you have to accept you are working under a very proprietary atmosphere, if that is a problem then you should never get a mac.
I can tell someone like you takes the whole thing WAY too personally.
