helmet insignia has been customized for this map
so yeah there will be squad leader tom hanks running around.
and for why didnt they made caen etc.
the mapping progress/process in FH2 is a bit "strange". simply put a mapper decides that he wants to do this or that map and starts with it.
if he needs special statics, models equipment etc he asks the devs that can do that.
since for this map most stuff was already there only the mapper did need to put much work into it so the development progress of other stuff wasnt hampered that much.
as the project progresses most devs started to really liked this map and started adding more custom stuff, like textures for tiger/marder, desaturated player models , some nice effects etc etc. everybody chips in.
also "easy" for this map was that the general map layout was already set. urban combat focused around taking/defending "a bridge". one team with heavy weapon support while the other has the terrain advantage.
after testing most "faults" in the map were rather quickly discovered and "fixed".
generally the progress this map made over time was rather fast and people had fun making it.
sure there are some stubborn people, but haters gonna hate ^^
cant wait to play this map in public and see if i can exploit my tomb-raider-sneaky-ninja positions in public too.
