"Samnadine" from the Forgotten Honor Mod (http://forgottenhonor.net/index.php) made a Fantastic Review of some of our Maps and what makes them feel so natural. I think he pointed out perfect how many small Scenes and Love for Detail our Mapper put in their Maps.
I would suggest that every Person who want to create a Map take a look on this.
Enjoy! ;)

OBJECTS
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o1.jpg)
No empty corners!
Tents with objects covered
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o3.jpg)
All buildings have furniture inside, light effects are cool
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o4.jpg)
Inside a house
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o5.jpg)
Check the wood panel and sandboxes around
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o6.jpg)
Defensive statics don't have to be really symetrical placed, it could be that they were moved to let a friendly truck to move in
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o7.jpg)
Streets are not empty
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o8.jpg)
It's fun to stay hidden in a bunker, see how many objects they have inside
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o9.jpg)
How a bunker is decorated with metal sheets, all sized boxes, tents (even on the bunker), barrels and others
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o10.jpg)
Usually this building is placed empty in our maps, barrals on metal sheets or wooden panels gives a good atmosphere. Sandbax on second floor.
Indiana jones has been here? this looks as an acheologist excavation
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o12.jpg)
They digged in the AT barrier, barbered wired on front. But they hadn't enough supplies to make a big line
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o13.jpg)
They make chairs here, beautiful isn't it?
You can take cover from every direction. Check the details of the tire next the boxes or on the truck. See the building's entrance
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o15.jpg)
Cities have lights, 30' style
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o16.jpg)
Soldiers make a quick and improvized barrier with some furtniture from the buildings
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o17.jpg)
Cities have shops, you can buy bread here (metaxas knows what it says  )
The building alone is boring, this makes it interesting to see. Barrels, rusted 'beds', metal sheets, camouflage/tent on the side with supplies under it..
Just a little detail. Always ammonition next to it!
Same than before
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o21.jpg)
Nothing is empty, lonely wooden panel at the wall
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o22.jpg)
Camouflage, wooden panels and sandboxes
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o23.jpg)
There has been living someone here..

More tents, half platoon sleeps here. They have table and bench
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o28.jpg)
Waiting times can be boring...
At nest
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o30.jpg)

BUILDING DESIGN
* * *
Walls and stairs nicely placed
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c2.jpg)
2 ground levels, check the right side. Big fence and smaller fence.
Cool defense point, trenches combines with camouflated AT nest and bunkers
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c4.jpg)
Use of stairs, arch and wisely placed buildings
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c5.jpg)
More use of stairs. Check the light on the corner. Buildings positions are not symetrical, small street which turns a bit
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c6.jpg)
Beautiful. The stairs and the fence on this stone building placed on a hill makes it really good looking. Don't forget objects!
Electricity cables are a mess, typical of southern countries (Italy), specially these times
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c8.jpg)
More electricity cables. See the fences of that building, a little courtyard and at the right side a small street
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c9.jpg)
Stairs and a combobuilding
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c10.jpg)
Arches are important
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c11.jpg)
More stairs, this is tipical in Italy, it's not flat and old towns are build like this
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c12.jpg)
Original combination of buildings
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c13.jpg)
Awesome use of stairs, walls and fences
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c14.jpg)
sidewalk
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c15.jpg)
This makes it really special, there was not much city planning in 'old' times, this is very common. Claustrophobic streets, balcons on the walls, archs and stairs
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c16.jpg)
Defense nest, strongpoint with different elements
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c17.jpg)
Better than above
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c18.jpg)
Town wall, with a little fence outside.
Nice, isn't it?
More use of stairs and archs
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c21.jpg)
Stairs and stairs
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c22.jpg)
Coastal town and a passage on the beach. Benches and lights on the passage
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c23.jpg)
Stairs and wooden panel creates a lots of options to go
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c24.jpg)
Continuation of before, you can go in different rooftops if you want!
wow
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c26.jpg)
Arches and wide stairs, looks like an important walkway. See the lights and the electricity cables
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c27.jpg)
Back ways
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c28.jpg)
Yes, looks ugly, but this is how they build here and 100-1000 years ago, different levels
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c29.jpg)
buildings are not placed alone
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c30.jpg)
original path
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c31.jpg)
bomb crates, there's broken wood panels and trash there
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c32.jpg)
Sand has been moved by the bombing, different color
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c33.jpg)
A building exploted and some furniture landed outside
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c34.jpg)
this looks as a main road, see all the details
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c35.jpg)
Nice picture eh? guess what it is..
Stairs with wooden panels detail
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c37.jpg)
Nice building combo
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c38.jpg)
Arches and lots of ways to go
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c39.jpg)
beautiful....
another awesome combo, no comments for it
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c41.jpg)
same, stairs+archs+levels+well placed plants+some cool statics=fun play area
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c42.jpg)
You can even feel confused of so many ways!
See how the bunker has been placed with the trench. Other details are added to make it more impressive
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c44.jpg)
Actually this bunker design is really cool, but how the buildings with the walls are placed looks awesome
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c45.jpg)
The other entrance lf that underground bunker
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/c46.jpg)
More stairs, arches and levels

LANDSCAPE
* * *
South Italy is dry, not that wet. Good example. Also see there are some bushes there
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/l2.jpg)
Ground textures colors
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/l3.jpg)
Small farm, old fences
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/l4.jpg)
Rural area. See the stairs and that little wall!
It's not always necessary to place lots of trees, a few of them well placed is enough for south Italy
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/l6.jpg)
Barricade
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/l7.jpg)
Another small farm
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/l8.jpg)
Same, fences, specially those of stone are common in openfields
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/l9.jpg)
stone mountains
(http://files.forgottenhonor.com//mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/l10.jpg)

Well, just to add that descriptions have typos and it's focused on the current Italian campaign on FHT, that's why some descriptions are related to Italy, same for landscape pictures.
I will keep this updated when I've got more time.
Thanks to all mapppers for their awesome results, I'm just showing you how good are their maps ;)
-
Very impressive. I know I will be using this as a reference, and I'm sure other people will too.
-
Wow Impressive!
Looks really nice for a new mapper like me.. +50!

Haha, I already wondered why you kept calling a Greek village Italian :P
It is very usefull though, nice to scroll through and this makes you look at things you usually never see in battle. Like Taverna Toddel :P
-
Thanks samnadine :)
-
These are awesome pictures of awesome maps. Some of these static placements just blows my mind. A true inspiration for a amateur mapper it is.
-
I dunno, but I don't see any pics ???
I know they should be there, but I only see the blue descriptions.
-
Those pictures are hosted on one of forgotten honor's servers which is under maintenance for few days. Pictures should be back in when maintenance is over.

Pictures are online again! (I hope they will stay :P )

I cant see pictures :( Can somebody fix?
We at Forgotten Honor (http://www.forgottenhonor.com) had to changed the files location. You just need to quote Toddel's post and change it if you want.
Just replace the "www" with "files" and deleted the "hoststuff" .
For example the first picture instead of:
http://www.forgottenhonor.com/hoststuff/mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o1.jpg
its
http://files.forgottenhonor.com/mapteam/Campaign_3_Project/Graphics/mappinghandbook/o1.jpg
Simple and easy. ;)
-
No need for that, I fixed the URLs.
Cheers! :)
