To Support FH2?
« on: 02-04-2009, 03:04:07 »
My clan is in the process of a major transformation as it moves away from the game of its birth, Battlefield 1942.  During this process we will be merging with several other Bf1942 clans in an effort to compile our resources and push into new games.  I am the FH administrator of my clan, and as this new community is being structured, I am trying to decide whether to support FH2 and push for recruitment in it.  Right now I am primarily waiting for the Normandy release, but I would like to get some feedback from the beta testers as whether or not they think Normandy will give FH2 the boost it needs to finally take off.

Well...it all depends on personal opinion I think. Obviously there are a few gameplay elements that you can't really get the feel for, but I'd say take a look at the screenshots, renders, and map shots and decide this one for yourself.

I think Normandy will give FH2 a boost if interest, people just get a little sick of sand after a while, just having some greenery in the picture will probably cause the servers to fill up again, not to metion some cool new changes to gameplay, new Canadians and American factions aswell as new weapons and vehicles.

I as a tester who can't wait to test 2.2 every day, I can say that I do strongly believe in a boost of numbers as soon as Normandy is there. At least if people are still interested in BF2's mods and didn't have a dislike in the BF2 engine to start off with.

How would you testers compare 2.15 with 2.2?

SPOILER WARNING!
==========================================
Do not read my post unless you want to feel some pain and envy.
==========================================

Haven't you read between the lines by now Fuchs?
It is such a difference that most testers can't bare to play FH2.15 with the old settings anymore.
2.2 and 2.15 are almost two different mods in my opinion.
And I can't wait to test the newest build this evening. ^^

Ha you couldn't resist could you? Well that pain and envy you feel now is what you deserved. ^^
Was it as good for you as it was for me? ;)

Thanks N24. I do not feel envy or pain at all. I feel statisfaction, knowing that the mod I will soon have will rule the universe.
But if you where lying.. prepare to die! I don't want to get dissapointed in 2.2.

I will be pissed if you won't find Normandy to be enjoyable. :-X I believe EoD for BF2 is a good example of how fun it is to be a grass ninja (and what kind of advantages that comes with it). It's really a huge gameplay change.

Well grass ninjaing is not much fun if your opposite has vegetation on low and thus doesn't see grass at all.

Sad thing is, in normandy that doesnt matter. Low or High settings, you can still hide like a chameleon.
