New Forum Layout/Look

So how else here really hates the new forum style?  I can't even tell when a topic is new or has been posted in recently.  Plus, all the various shades of grey all over the place are playing hell with my eyes....

What are you guys talking about? The forum didn't change for me at all? Or at least I haven't noticed it... only thing that's different are gold and silver stars on the main page...

EDIT: nvm updated my layout and now I see it... It's confusing yeah.

I used the original forum style even through the change to the crappy white generic thing (I just went and changed the layout back, and sucked it up on a fewthings not working right, just so I could get something that was pleasing to the eye).  Sadly, I cannot even change back to that now....

And Fuchs, change isn't always bad, but it's not always good either.  In this case, I'm wishing that I could change back to the classic style, because it is easier on my eyes, plus WAY easier to look at threads.

Anyway, it makes the monitor shines bad light into my makeup. So yeah I hate it.

On more serious note. I barely notice what's the change.

well, the generic white was indeed just bloody awful but this isnt the best either, If you look at for instance Fuchs' signature, it's hardly noticed, and the fun of the inspector Tiger joke has been totally reduced

I much prefer the silver/gold stars to denote new posts. It is much more noticable and less buggy than the blinking dots. The rest of the format changes aren't really that noticable.

About a year ago the forum software was updated from smf 1.x to smf 2.x.
The old Theme "Warzone" was still available, but was no more properly working with the new software.
So we re-created it for smf 2.x (more or less) as the "ForgottenHope" Theme. This is the default theme now for a long time.
Some images got changed there lately and some bugs got fixed (the cursed search box), so I decided to clean up the theme folder today and disabled the old themes. This change affects at max the 18 people that were using it, compared to a few thousand users of the default theme.

But of course, if there is anything that could be improved, tell us and we can make further updates to the ForgottenHope theme.

I prefer darker or near black background, because it saves energy (especially in CRT monitors) and does not hurt healthy eyes.

Other than that it's pretty much perfect for me.

I was using Warzone, because it didn't mess with my eyes the way the white one did.  I never knew that the white one got changed to this, so your change, removing warzone, popped me into this.  Whilst the gold stars are ok, I personally much preferred the flashing dots...the gold stars look very out of place to me.  Also, I still have yet to figure out how to tell if a thread has been posted in recently or not....
