ESAI:FH2 Edition Releases

ESAI is a Strategic AI enhancement project. It gives your AI commander more choices of strategy, and seems to help with bot behavior. The FH2 Edition forces the AI commander to attack flags in the order dictated by Push game modes.

Works with FH2 v 2.4!

The current version of ESAI:FH2 is 2.5

Download ESAI:FH2 Edition

FH2 levels (SP & COOP) with specific ESAI plugins and map files:

- Gazala 64
- Mareth Line 64
- Villers Bocage 64
- Siege of Tobruk 64*
- Supercharge 64*
- Lebisey 64*
- Operation Goodwood 64*

* Fixes "Push" mode flag capture order

ESAI:FH2 is now at version 1.6.

I've added custom SAI to Siege of Tobruk. Now the German Commander will attack the flags in the order dictated by the "Push" game mode.

This version is backwards compatible with any prior ESAI:FH2 version. This will always be true of official ESAI:FH2 releases. You can safely update your ESAI version without breaking any maps already hooked to ESAI.

Keep your eyes on the list of maps with custom SAI (i.e., custom ESAI plugins and map files). This list will be growing in future ESAI:FH2 releases.

ESAI:FH2 is now at version 2.0. Seven FH2 maps now have custom SAI.

I am very interested in community feedback at this point, and will have this project on hold for a few days while I wait for some folks to test it out.

If you encounter bugs / crazy AI Commander orders on any maps with custom SAI, please report them in the project's discussion thread.If you believe you have found a bug, a screenshot would be nice. A screenshot while running in AI debug mode would be even better.

If you just have positive results to share, that sort of feedback is welcome also  ;)

Will try it out, played singleplayer without ESAI and I was disappoint.

The Main branch of the ESAI project has had a major update to the core code. The new core has now been adapted for ESAI:FH2 Edition.

ESAI:FH2 is now at version 2.5.

This version is backwards compatible with any fh2 maps already hooked to ESAI. You need only replace your ESAI directory with the new one and the upgrade is complete.

Zoo! long time no see my friend.

2.5 changes nothing in the maps. It supports exactly the same maps that 2.0.1 supported. The only change is to the ESAI core, which is now based on the same core as Standard ESAI v4.1.

You will see bigger changes in the maps that I haven't written custom SAI for, if you have ESAI hooked to those maps. I've changed some fundamental aspects of the way ESAI works, and these changes carry over to both the default strategy sets as well as the additional user strategy sets.

Edit: Just to be clear, Mareth Line still contains my changes to the Allied Airfield spawns. I made it so that bots would not spawn way back there unless there was an aircraft available. That is the only map that I've altered in any way, with respect to the map pack. There is an alternate version of Luttich floating about that I did a while back (I think Djinn still has it), but that was unnoficial of course, and just for fun.

Hey yah, I'm still here... just currently tweaking my FlightSim. I'll get back to test this wonderful AI enhancement for sure.

I also keep the custom Mareth Line and Luettich too.

Hello all. No, not yet has there been a new release of ESAI, though fh2 2.4 has long been out.

 After reading some posts around here I'd like to clarify that ESAI does work with Fh2 2.4. This is mostly because it works with anything; it was designed that way.

Most of you will still need the map pack for the maps I wrote custom strategy for.

If you know how to patch zip archives, you can skip the map pack and just get ESAI:FH2 Edition. All the map files for patching come with it. You MUST include both the 'strategies.ai' files as well as the 'StrategicAreas.ai' files in your server zips for the custom strategies to work.

Again: ESAI:FH2 works with FH2 2.4

I'm just now looking at 2.4 and the changes, but a new ESAI:FH2 version is planned for the not so distant future.
