A Browning HP would be perfect for germans, as it was used by them as well.

Helmets actually change based on what kit you use... So yes, I'm certain the sniper can at least get the hat - And sure, definitely, if a group have leaves in their helemt... let the leaves grow :-)

I would rather have more helmets change for tanker kit etc complete with headphones or whatever they had etc , etc...

Headphones are a must for a tank commander. Im also extrange why we cant have a hatch position to use the binoculars, or even periscopes.

General / Re: Ammo in FH2!

I think that a certain zone of every flag needs ammo crates. Sort of an unseen aura that gives you ammo. To see sort of this type of zone you can add several big ass crates of ammo. It must be big enough so vehicles can drive in. Another thing if the ammo trucks dont work the devs can add certain details to INDICATE that this is an ammo truck dont leave your team without ammo you fag. Or always there the possibility of including certain tanks, like the weaponless Hummel to ressuply the ammo.

Well depending of the vehicle you used in BF2, you uniforms change accordingly. I can see panzer crews or commanders use this uniforms:

And the commander or unteroffizier just like this beauty :D

Perhaps the distance between the places where the gun contacts the stops is 20 degrees?

I love these silly discussions where some one huffs and puffs about a "problem" that turns out to be a simple thing like "press a or d." :P

Well I really didnt know about this small details. As I am new, and I mean very new to this mod. Im still getting used to the fire fights.

I want to see battle hardened german paratroopers in Monte Casino  ;D
Only if there's Poles to kick their ass.

Nah, probably the gurkhas and indian divisions. Still by my standards look what good defenders can do to cripple several divisions, including poles  ;)

Although, one must remember, it was the Poles that broke through and captured Monte Cassino and the Monestary, not the ghurkas or the indians ;)

I know, I was just stating that indians, gurkhas participated into the 4 assaults of Monte Casino. And the germans almost destroyed their entire divisions with just a couple of companies. Its one of the most famous battles of WW2, and I gave my thumps up to the germans defending Monte Casino. And well the monastery was destroyed by allies so it couldnt be used as an observation post, but the germans talked to the same church of not using it as a post. Its funny in a way, because when the monastery was destroyed it added a better strong position of rubbles that couldnt be spotted through air.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the U.S and Brits used more camo netting than accual folliage to cover their tanks, right? however, I guess it depends more so on the individual tanker ingenuity on the field that decided how they were going to blend in with the environment...

I think it was more of a camo measure because of the kilometers of hedgeroads. But the germans used to camouflage their tanks because of the air superiority of the allies. That extra protection like sandbags and stuff in allied tanks it didnt work at all. German anti tank projectiles were still capable of getting through this self made protection.

Well anyway, I'll like the Hetzer and the magnetic mine soon in the mod. It will be a tank reliever and its more effective than the sticky bombs. I heard that sometimes the ally users get stuck with their own sticky bombs No. 74 and blow up because the glue was incredible powerful if they attempt to thrown it; it stick to their own uniforms. Ouch, not a good way to go.

It was very common for the vehicles to have foliage in german vehicles because of the allies air superiority; the same flaks and AA guns were still camouflage. It was the best strategy to move at night, where air activity was non existance. Plus I think it looks very cool to see foliage in tanks.

I am sorry for this to be my first post on here but I feel compelled to reply. I find it quite disturbing that you are such an aficionado of a unit that systematically committed some of the most horrific crimes of the war. If my grandfather had served in a unit with such a despicable reputation it would not be a fact that I would be proud of.

My grandfather told me stories of the eastern front. He was just a soldier barely to the grade of sergeant; he manned a MG42 in his company thats all what he did. Russians where extremely hard to both sides; plus the Waffen SS was not a unit but several divisions up to 38; of about 520,000 men. And I dont glorified them or Im not an aficionado, I just have another point of view instead of media fested people. Because as long as people dont remember that even the same Stallin killed 20 million people of his own country men.

In anyway this already happened, and we cant change history. I just have respect for the military actions of the Waffen SS divisions, not the war attrocities. Plus just about 7 to 8 divisions got war crimes the others 32 were not guilty of anything.

Howdy.

I personally believe History should not be censored. It happened and the fact that over years Germany has been made to feel more and more ashamed of its past deeply sadens me. :(

Couldnt better agree with you. See Japan, they commited extremely war attrocities and symbols are not prohibited or something like that.

General Discussion / Limited Lafette movement.
« on: 12-10-2009, 23:10:05 »
I want to know why the deployable kit of the MG34/MG42 lafette have such a small degrees movement, to the point I have to leave the machine gun and place another to my right/left side just to have a 90° degrees arc of fire. Need to remind people that the lafette was moveable up to 180° degrees of movement; but in the game is barely 45. The lafette is only useful in urban fighting, but in open fields its totally useless because of the limited arc of fire so its very hard to use it.

IIRC, A hetzer is in the game files already.  But it wasn't present on any of the current maps, so you won't see it yet.

Also, as had been said RO is an entirely different game on a different engine.  In BF2, you cannot disable a tank by shooting certain parts of it, because it works off a hitpoint system. The best you can do is have certain parts of the tank take more damage than other parts.

The Haftholladung has been suggested before and, as has been shown, even made by a fan modeler.  If that model is up to snuff, the FH2 Devs might incorporate it into the mod, or perhaps they will make their own version, who knows.  If it was used in any sufficient quantity, you can rest assured that it will find its way into the mod one way or another (for example, the Haftholladung was in the Forgotten Hope Secret Weapons minimod for FH1).

Welcome to the forums.  Don't lapse into noobishness and you should enjoy your stay here.  Beware that the SS thing is a touchy subject, so don't dwell on it, at least not until you establish a decent reputation.

Thanks for the kind answer, I enjoy that the Hetzer is in the game files. Certainly we'll see that beauty soon in the mod. As for the magnetic mine, I hope the devs add that to the mod to replace the satchel charge that dont stick to anything, and will work like the C4 of BF2. Too bad that even as this stage DICE hasnt release the script code to mod completely the BF2 engine.

As for the SS, well Im entitled to my own opinions; I can imagine their uneasiness even if I was talking of soviet penal divisions.
