Crosshair?
« on: 25-04-2015, 23:04:53 »
Isn't there supposed to be a crosshair? No matter what setting I change in the menu I don't see any
aiming crosshair in the game. I also noticed some hud elements have been removed. Is this intentional?
And if so, is there a way I can change it?

No crosshair, no health bar (for infantry).

And there is no way to change that? Like changing a value in a configuration file or something?

You might be able to edit the HUD files, but that would be rather complicated and would not work online.

I actually wouldn't mind it not working online. Could you tell me how to do it?
If its not too much trouble of course.

Not really I'm afraid, I'm just a mapping guy. But from a quick glance at the files it seems like the necessary graphical files for the crosshairs were completely deleted, so you can't just change a line of code somewhere and have them back I'm afraid. You could try to copy over the vanilla BF2 crosshair file from their menu_client.zip and pack it into the FH2 equivalent, but I can't guarantee that will do anything.
Life bar would be even more complicated I bet. Why not just enjoy FH2 the way it was designed? ;)

Why do you need crosshair for? weapons in FH2 are very inaccurate when fired from hip, you need to aim through your sights anyway

It's an intentional feature of the mod to make it feel more realistic.

If you really need that crosshair.
The most simpel sollution is to put a piece of tape (crosshair design) on the middel of your screen  ;)

You will be surprised but there actually are people who really do that, and/or admitted to that in the past, no matter how silly it sounds  ::)

I've done it before, but not for BF2. It's actually distracting at times and eventually you won't need it anymore, so it's a good trainer if you want to be really competitive.
