That's just insecure Americans.
Of course when you're an adult it's ok, but to push it on kids? As if Barbie wasn't enough, now LEGO too?
I mean why are they all "perfect"? Do all kids need to be perfect? What kind of a message we are sending?
Now we are talking different things.
In kids' matter, I agree. They even show kids beauty pageant on Discovery Home and Health. I saw toddlers being bitches on interviews like their 20 year older supermodel counterpart, and it is chilling. Something is totally wrong there. They train them to pose on catwalks. And I hope they don't put stuffs on those kids' meal.
...And then we find it strange when they say eating disorders are on the rise...Teen suicides are on the rise... Underage pregnancies are on the rise...
Just stop and think about it for a bit...
Well, eating disorders... that goes for overeating too right?
My BS detector rings like: 1st world problem!
It is not oversimplifying the problem, but people are just making things too complicated to make themselves look serious. Really, why no one ever looked at their parents? Who brought this issue? In the past, in some 3rd world country shithole (or maybe India, Myanmar, Nigeria, and others) like here, people would normally have 6-12 kids. My father has 11 siblings, they all grew normally (none being criminal, 7 become businessmen, 1 of their company went IPO years ago, 3 become paid professionals, 1 being simply a housewive), and I met that grumpy grandma before she passed away. Today, I came to think that she was quite a badass back then. But people quickly decides that "her method was obsolete."
Something bad like "eating disorder, teen suicide, etc" is on the rise (trending), yet people dissed hipsters or people who tried to be different.
