I have been playing forgotten hope since BF42 and never had a problem with it. 2.3 was playing great. I am getting "The program can't start because Memory.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". First I did the full 3 part install. Then went back to 2.3 verified it and did the patch. No go. Now I am back to the full install and I don't know what I am doing wrong. I always deleted the folders when I would start fresh. Saved my downloads to the desktop then extracted them to the BF2 mods folder. Running W7 64bit. What happened to clicking on an exe and it does everything it should? Help please.

Did you dowload it via a torrent or a direct link from a homepage?
-
Direct link from homepage everytime. 3x.
-
Ok, I think I missread you there, does the memory problem come when installing the patches or while trying to launch FH2?
-
It's when I try to lauch the game. BF2, PR, and AIX all play fine.
-
Ok I did a little forum search and it seems someone has had this problem before:

Thanks for all your help DLF. I will keep trying to figure it out and if I do I will let you know what the issue was.
-
Sorry for your problems with the mod, sometimes it's just bad luck.
-
DLF a couple of things I found maybe you can help me. If I move the ForgottenHope2 out of the Battlefield 2 folder in mods and copy it into BF2 main it opens BF2 like a new install showing single player or multiplayer. Any ideas? I also from reading other players issues went to the BF2 community custom games and it doesn't even show FH2 in there at all. Could I be doing something wrong on my install?
-
always start fh2 using the Fh2 shortcut...
-
So, I'm back from the real Hürtgen Forest.
No, you shouldn't copy your mod-folder to the BF2 mod folder, that just begs for all kind of pain, let me try something at home this evening and I'll get back to you. :)
-
Just to be clear. I only copied the shortcut. The folder was not moved. But by putting that shortcut in the BF2 main allows it to do something. In the original location just give's me the memory.dll error. Thanks!
-
Wait a second, where was the shortcut in the first place?
Could you make a screenshot of the folder structure under Battlefield2?
-
Hope this helps DLF.
-
looking good so far, could you make another one of the mods subfolder?

Had the same problem. Create a shortcut to ForgottenHope2.exe and add the following parameter to the shortcut: +modPath mods/fh2

Thanks Eglaerinion but unfortunately that will not accept the change when I apply it. Tried several ways. Maybe I am doing something incorrectly. Here's the folders DLF. Had to spilt it because of size.

I got it!!! When I tried Eglaerinion's method I deleted all shortcuts on my desktop which lead me to reinstall the third part of the install in which I noticed it was going to the correct folder this time instead of my desktop. So I followed it up with parts 1&2 and I am back on. Thanks for everyones hard work on 2.4 and to you DLF and Elg. RFH!!

Good to know, I think two or three other people here might have the same problem. :)
