Medal of Honor Allied Assault and Breakthrough were one of my first shooters and they were awesome.
It just makes me cry to see where the series has ended.

Same goes for Call of Duty and Battlefield. It's just pathetic.

I must've played Battlefield 2 (and later its mods PR and FH2) for at least 2000 hours. Battlefield 3 became bored for me after 37. http://bf3stats.com/stats_pc/Sanderi93i

Either I had to play incredibly careful and get tons of kills and almost no deaths, or I could play like a douche and die all the time. There simply is no middle road anymore like there was in BF2. And I can quite tell you, getting 20-40 kills for 1-5 deaths each round is just as boring as dying all the time.

The amount of decent, historically authentic shooters is pathetic, the best are probably mods like Rising Storm and Iron Europe 1914-1916 for RO2.

These days, it's always "OMFG WE NEED NEW MODERN WARFARE STUFF, BECAUSE WE SEE IT ON THE NEWS AT NIGHT I WANNA DO THE SAME THINGS THESE GUYS DO, WHICH I NEVER WILL BE ABLE TO IRL!"

To those people, I say: you bloody wankers. Ok it's a good thing to have respect for those guys who are fighting, but war now is in no way comparable, to WWII for example. Paratroops now jump with night-vision aid, with sat-nav, with body armour, with effective commo systems, and with adapted weaponry. Airborne men over Normandy jumped out of tin cans that caught fire the moment you hit them with anything larger than a HMG bullet, without the help of night vision, highly scattered, no support whatsoever but God, the radioes were usually the first things that went bust, the enemy was waiting for them. To quote a friend of mine, "Those guys needed an extra chute for their balls."

More believable than you telling how awesome EA games are.

biased on the reviews this might as well be the game that could pull the plug on the MOH series. Seems rushed and not quality checked at all. I bet activation HQ is sniggering behind EA's back :P

yep, i dont even know why they decided to restart this IP. It was well placed in my memory as a good WW2 shooter. Now, lets see how they decide to fuck C&C: Generals 2.

Played a bit more and the whole thing is just unplayable. Tried like 10 times to play that level now and every time I get killed by friendly soldiers.

@Natty: Did you even bother to watch the video? It has nothing to do with a frag video, there isn't a single kill in it. It only points out how broken the level is.

I'm a soldier, and can assure you that the basic principles have gone unchanged. Sure, we have not fought a huge conventional war in some time, but that doesn't mean we don't train for one. Believing that technology somehow makes us better, and never fails is to be ignorant. In-fact radios are usually the first things to break, as are weapons, and people themselves. Marching long distances hauling kit, staying dry, feeding and staying hydrated, battle drills, actions on contact, rifle marksmanship, CQB, and especially vehicles, all remain unchanged. We still learn how to use flags, and hand signals just like the old guys did. Because technology fails easily.

And I don't know what magical mystical vehicles you think armies of today have, but I know my truck can be torn open by a .50 Cal just as easily as that bird can.

Also @Sander,

I've played almost 115 hours now of BF3. Still like the game.

Quite a disrespectfull post you are making. Really shows how mature you are.

Those stocks dont lie.

Dissatisfied gamers do not lie. Nor do the investors.
The beginning of this week showed the EA stock at 13.14. And its on today...lets see

11.97!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that magical vehicle doesn't exist, not even in my universe.

I was just making a point that war now is different than back then, now for example they have flight sims that control drones on the other side of the planet. I'd like to see how one of those MW gamers would react if we'd strap him into a P-47 and tell him that he's to fly this bird and make runs at highly defended targets. The psychological shock in a war is a factor that will always be part of the experience. And I think the current generation of games (CoD MW, BF3) removes this factor completely. There's no real sense of grit and dirt, no feeling of the true gruesomeness of a war. FH2 and RO (Darkest Hour up front) do a better job in scaring the shit out of a player.

End of my point.

Metascore of 58/54/51 (PC/PS3/XBOX)

Maybe even the reviewers are getting bored of the same old broken "modern military shooters."

More believable than you telling how awesome EA games are.
When did I do that? And do you mean EA Games (the company) or games that EA publishes? Hard to tell what you mean...

@Natty: Did you even bother to watch the video? It has nothing to do with a frag video, there isn't a single kill in it. It only points out how broken the level is.

Actually, it doesn't point out anything. It's a 2min video of a level... What was it you wanted to point out? communication? level design? hit indications? what?.., be specific.

yep, i dont even know why they decided to restart this IP. It was well placed in my memory as a good WW2 shooter.
Ah that's true! EA didnt call "SiCario" to ask what his memory of MoH was and if they should continue the franchise or not...
Why do major publishers keep IPs alive? In the FPS genre? Take three wild guesses  :P

Dissatisfied gamers do not lie.
ahahaha... they don't? sure... right they don't... they dont make up stuff to try and make the game developer look bad? No, not at all... dissatisfied gamers all wear a little halo of innocence and honesty around their head  8)

Wait, are you sure it wasn't a bug? Pretty damn sad if it is a feature of some sort.

In any case, does not look like a good game. Deciding on these videos,  I'd rather get bf3.
