is it possible to model a plane up there, not really there but functions like a cloud?

You can have moving statics that also make noise etc. Look in the Operation Peacekeeper mod, they got a night drop airborne assault map with flying planes where you spawn under.

Y is this not the way Crete is? That may help with some people who dont know how to fly? Does it look good?

probably b/c Crete is traditionally a player-controlled para drop map. Also with OPK's method you can only drop in certain areas. Crete, on the other hand, has a lot of distance between flags.

Yes Crete is about the manual boarding, taking off and controlling the plane, as well as dropping as paratrooper... the whole design of the map would die if there was auto-planes.

Although you could have a very different map. Totally change the lay out, ditch that German airfield, focus on Maleme Aerodrome scale 1:1.

I think there exists such a map allready, IIRC Forgotten Honor played a battle around this airfield. I dunno if they had paradrops on it though.

hmm I might have been wrong, they did a map over Chania Aerodrome and then another about Hill 107. Not Maleme Airfield it seems..
