FH 2.4 Freezing Issues
« on: 16-07-2011, 02:07:40 »
Today I noticed that twice now I have experienced my entire PC freezing when playing FH2. This never happened prior to the 2.4 update. I'm not talking about a game freeze -- I mean my entire PC locks up and requires a restart to respond.

Anyone else having this problem?

Here are my system specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate
Intel i7 930 2.8 ghz quad core
6 GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 260 896 MB
Rosewill 600 Watt PSU

not all the time, but i randomly get an entire pc freeze when utilizing the wespe and now the Willys MB Calliope. my guess is that this is due to something with the camera spot view and movement when in that screen. no other problems other than that.

This hasn't occurred before in betatesting, so please be sure to post once you can pinpoint the problem!

Hmm well I there isn't a pattern for me -- each time I have had my PC freeze (4 times now) all I was doing in-game was simply walking around. There was no warning or anything that suggested my PC was about to lock up.

And my performance is great in the game -- I get a solid 60 FPS or higher almost constantly, so it's not like my PC struggles with the game. Anyone know what might cause something like this? I honestly don't even know where to start, given that there isn't any pattern between freezings.

What does the windows event log say about the crash. Is it GPU or MEM related ?

How do I find out? Where is the log stored?

on Windows 7 or Vista go to Start - Find programs and files - type event in the search entry field. It should be the first one on top.
In the event log check on date and time when the error occured. Look for errors, ignore the warnings for now.

Heinrich, 70% CPU is great, it means your CPU is actually doing something. 1.2 gb ram sounds about right for FH2.

Did you crash?

Also sounds like a hardware problem. How much space is left on your C: drive?

Time to download some stress test tools and run those for a day. Some hardware component is failing you.
