Suggestions / Soviet Binoculars
« on: 27-12-2015, 07:12:41 »
I saw this on ebay recently and thought it might be useful for the developers!

This is a 1937 model 8x40 made by NPZ.

Easiest suggestion is IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946! It is almost ten years old but it is the definition of a simulator. I found a original disc and started playing just recently. I had to watch several videos on how to fly, it's not easy at first!

There are many mods. Since I had the original disc I was able to update from 4.07 to 4.12.1 and the mod pack HSFX will work (which seems to include the expansion Pacific Fights?). The Steam version will 4.13 and you will need a work-around for HSFX to work.

Finally these websites should be the most helpful with any questions you have.

It is really exciting flying around in a J2M!

General / Re: 3rd Person View in Tanks
« on: 27-12-2015, 06:12:20 »
I do like to admire the tanks as well! However, an outside view means the tank drier would be able to see anti-tank infantry with ease. I feel that it is an important part of game-play for infantry to assist tanks. Either by spotting targets or following close behind.

Perhaps it is possible for this to be a single player view only. But I am not sure.

Thank you for reporting it anyway!

That is great! Navmeshing is a tedious job.

I think there is merit in this, it would attract a lot of users who aren't normally within the WW2 mod circle and want to try it out.  :)

Documents are image only unfortunately. You could try combing the images into a PDF and use Adobe's OCR function.

I wanted to share some links with the members of FH2 which I think are great resources for learning history. These might even be useful for the developers, too.

The first is a collaboration between Germany and Russia to bring freely available documents online.  :)

General Discussion / Re: Hi! And Help!

Reinstall the patch 1.41 and then 1.5 from https://help.ea.com/ca/article/obtaining-the-latest-updates-for-battlefield-2/

If this changes nothing, reinstall your direct X drivers.

Check for updates. It happened to me before I realised a new update was released.
