Off-Topic / Colourising History
« on: 20-02-2015, 03:02:05 »
So I recently found out that I really enjoy colourising old photographs.

Railways are one of my key interests as some people on here may know and when someone on a facebook group I'm a member of started to post some of his old black and white photographs from the 60s I asked him whether he'd be kind enough to let me attempt colourising them.

He gave me the go ahead and here are some of the results:

Anyway, some of you may have guessed where this is going..

I'm going to give recolouring some Second World War photographs now, balance out the Tank to Train ratio.

more trains at war pls.

The Romney, Hythe and Dymnchurch Railway, a miniature railway on the South East Coast of England, had it's own armoured train which, believe it or not, claimed kills.

Apparently the railway confused German pilots due to it's small scale which lead them to misjudge their altitude (I don't know if this is true but it is certainly amusing).

That's because Caffeine is mildly addictive, but weed isn't.

Mudra man,

One of my Grandfathers was involved in the fighting around Monte Cassino and I'm not so offended by this (naïve, yes but) innocent post. Such animosity is hardly going to encourage new people to engage in this community and keep it alive.

Asians are the most racist people out there. My god...saw this first hand. Personally i found the japanese not as racist, but chinese especially shocked me.

I can vouch for this from what my half-Chinese girlfriend tells me.

Thank you, friend.

Sounds a bit like allied tanks firing phosphorus rounds at German armour.

Are they attempting to re-track it?

We sent it home to Britain to have it taxidermied, then gift it to Queen Victoria!
I'm not going to lie, you do look a bit like you've bent the giraffe over the sofa and are getting busy with it.

Close your eyes and think of England.

That's not a boot, it's part of a bridge.

That is if it isn't part of a tank that's coming in the next release.

"oops"

Looks like one of the Anti-tank ditches described at Prokhorovka that a load of T-34s nose-dived into in their down hill charge at the German positions.

Hey !
I wonder if it's possible to obligate all squad members to spawn on the squad leader (only when you're the squad leader). Cause for now spawning seems to be really random (?) and in SP sometimes it's hard to take a flag when your squad spawn far away.
Thanks.

That's actually a pretty clever idea.
