As a fan you've probably seen 'm already, but just in case I'd like to point out the two BSG companion movies
Razor and
The Plan.
Razor was far better than The Plan as a standalone movie, but The Plan worked nicely as a icing on the cake type thingy after finishing the whole darn saga. Looking forward to checking out Caprica soon.
Last movie I saw:
Resident Evil: Afterlife 3DAfter my earlier rant about Paul WS Anderson in athis thread I deceided to check out his new Res Evil movie.
The previous instalment (RE: Extinction) surprised me by actually being highly enjoyable and simply a good movie. Anderson skipped on that one, but is back as a writer/director for this one, and it shows. This new one manages to destroy my new found love for the series (I was never a RE player, I just like to see Milla Jovovich in these kind of flicks) simply by doing almost everything wrong. The story is okay I guess (more Umbrella conspiracies etc.) but the execution sucks. It's like Anderson hasn't watched a movie since the original Matrix came out 11 years ago the way he still clings to slo-mo CGI shots. The movie is just a mess. No tension buildup whatsoever, just exposition followed by an obligatory effects-heavy scene/setpiece. The zombies are there just for show, as well as anyone who isn't a feisty, hot, armed-to-the-teeth female, and the 3D feels like an afterthought. Let's hope the guy is too busy for the next instalment and hires a professional.
So skip it. It's not
frustratingly bad or anything, it's just a dull affair. Only for RE fans I guess...
