Neat! Now you can very professionally smack some historical sense into people!
Seriously, it's pretty effin cool
Hehe, I'm looking forward to doing so! I'll be running office hours 2 days a week, 2 hours each day, so hopefully I'll get plenty of students coming in for that smackdown.

@VonMurda, just out of interest, do you teach ww2 history lessons?
Heh, VonMurda. Haven't seen that misspelling in a while.
I'm getting my PhD in History, and am assigned as a Teacher's Assistant as well. Basically I will be dealing with grading, working with students 1 on 1 at office hours, possibly teaching some of the classes, and in general doing all the work the Professors can't be bothered with. Academia is kinda like a guild in that sense.

The next step I want, maybe next year or so, would be becoming a Teaching Fellow, at which point I'm handling my own course, teaching it, etc, and will possibly even have some TA's assigned to me. Then just gotta hold myself there until I get my PhD, which will take ~5 years of coursework and dissertation research/writing/defending.
