No.1 looks to be almost certainly a Centaur/Cromwell or possibly a Comet, and No.3 and No.4 looks possibly like some Centurion derivative.

No.1 - Charioteer, its a post war tank destroyer that used recycled cromwell chassis and mounted a 20 pounder

No.2 - PTS-M, Russian amphibious transporter

No.3 - Centurion AVRE

No.4 - Centurion AVLB, minus the Bridge bit  :P

That's an interesting mix whereabouts is this training ground?

We can clearly see that number one is Cromwell's hull. But how do we know whether it is a real Cromwell Mk. ## or Comet/Centaur/Charioteer?

Cromwell suspension. And Charioteer was the only Cromwell based tank used by Austria (IIRC)

Yeh well its pretty hard to tell :/ As far as i know we haven't used any of the tanks mentioned. Austrian Tank history goes pretty much like this : T-34/85, M24, M26, M47, M60, Leo 2A4. Wiki says that we had 56 Charioteers, but i can't find any records of which battalion had and use them. We got a pretty cool austrian armor history book laying around here and there is no mention of it either. Weird.

But i also found these not far away : These where behind the hangar we park our leopards in. Haven't noticed them for the past 4 month :o Also there is a BMP-2 in the woods, upside down, and something that appears to me like a M43 chassis. But it was in the middle of a super muddy field so i didn't went close. Gotta check it out when the ground dries a bit :)

The way you can tell it's a Charioteer is by the Blank plate covering up where the hull machine gun was and the fishtail exhausts at the back. As for how it got there and who was using it I don't know tbh. Corvax is this a practice range you visit? Or is it an area for practice manoeuvres? and please keep the pics coming, I love derelict/abandoned stuff like this.

Well it a huge maneuver ground used for all kind of weapon practice. We spent quite a time there now with our 3 Leopard platoons. The old tanks standing around here where once used as either target practice (some are completely torn apart from 120mm KI Ammo or AT Rockets), others where just used as "enemies" for spotting or whatever. If you wander around the woods and bushes you will have a hard time NOT to find some tanks or leftovers of tanks. Even found a completely wrecked 6 pounder AT gun and a M3A4 upside down in a bomb crater.

And just to tease you guys, this is what i was doing the last few days. Taking pictures of our Leopards shooting the shit out of training targets. (sadly "hard" targets aren't used anymore, since its too hard to confirm a hit ..)

Wasn't that Russian transporter in the first Tomb Raider movie?

Anyhoo, indeed keep the pics coming.

Aye. I pretty much get to see everything, get to shoot everything and get to ride everything. Already flown with the Blackhawk, Hercules, driven in the Leopard, Ulan, Dingo and whatnot. Sadly i can't show most of the pictures since there are internal thingies involved which I'm not allowed to show. Maybe after i finished my service. But in the meantime its freakin awesome what I'm doing :p
