Anyone having problems with the controls?

My controls were totally resat.

I had a copy of my controls.con and overwrote.
Nothing happens.

Everything is still on default.

I didn't try to modify it ingame yet, because modifying ingame usually never works.

My controls.con have been modified prior to BF2 patch 1.02, which allowed me to bind keys that were locked for modification after 1.02.

So, I'm so FUCKED UP.
This mess will take hours, if I ever get my controls back working as it was in FH2.3.



I'm getting something to eat and will ponder about it.
Will be hardcore to copy and paste single elements within the controls con. Not to mention, that there are several controls.con.  :'(

Can only take hours or days. I'll probably hate my life.

I got:
controls.FH2
controls.BF2
controls.con.bak
controls.con.tmp

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom

That does barely help me.
Is Fh2.exe auto-moving the file controls.con from EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Mods\FH2\Settings\ to my profiles folder? If yes, I'd have to remove the write protection from my Profiles folder.

I overwrote the controls.con in EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Mods\FH2\Settings\ with my controls.con, but it has no effect.

In the worst case, I'll have to start from scratch, line by line.

I still really don't know which controls.con FH2 is using. that would be helpful.

Ok, this brought me 1 step ahead. It is saving any changes of controls made ingame to EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Mods\FH2\Settings\controls.con

Will try to re-modify the controls ingame, applying further changes to the controls.con using an editor later.

this is strange. It should start with "sidestep left" instead of "sidestep right" after having defined backwards.
It is always "LEFT", then "RIGHT". Not vice versa.
Did a right handed person create the new FH controls.con?

There is a folder "Forgottenhp 2". Did I create that?

I still do not understand where the changes that I make ingame are being saved.

Ok, so you actually save them to Documents/Forgottenhp 2/Profiles/000X. Smart. That was what I'm looking for.

Cheerio. I got it.

Consider to move "ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PICrouch IDFKeyboard IDKey" from "ControlMap.create defaultPlayerInputControlMap" to"ControlMap.create InfantryPlayerInputControlMap".

I'm still not done with the controls yet. The tanks and AT guns must be moved with WASD despite I changed the controls for tanks in the ingame menu already. *sigh*
