Fallout 3
« on: 07-02-2011, 22:02:03 »

I know there are some Fallout 3 veterans here. Please help me planning my next step.

- I've done the Arefu Mission dealing the 'Family' of Vampires.
- Solved the Big Town quest, thus having been to the police station. Also cleared Roosevelt Academy.
- Arefu settlers reveal 3 areas afterwards: Abandoned Car Fort, Five Axels Rest Stop and Shalebridge (Ants). On the way I also found VAPL-58 Power Station and Jalbert Brothers Waste Disposal.
- Solved chapter 1 of the Survival Manual from Moira. Did not start with chapter 2.
- Solved Greyditch, need to go to Rivet City for the boy, but it seems to difficult now. I've encountered the chinese down there. Aborted at Mama Dolce's sweet factory. There is also the quest with those guys searching for their friend, at Falls Church Metro.

Mission available:
- Bring boy to Rivet city
- Falls Church Metro
- Survival Manual Chapter 2: Dry Sewer
- Find info on Android
- Goto Galaxy Radio
(- The bomb in Megaton)

Any suggestions where to go next from a expirienced lone wanderer?

I forgot to mention: I planned to seach for Little Lamplight west of Big City. Is that a good idea? Would have been my very next step.

I'm at level 10. My only flaw was to sell the first 2 dozens of scientific magazines for 30 bucks each instead of reading them.

Ok, just in case somebody hasn't played this yet and needs a guide for startup:

After a long search I found little lamplight totally hidden behind some hills. But in order to get in, you need to free kids from slavery in Paradise Falls. Sounds difficult.

However it was in fact much smarter to go for Galaxy News Radio. Was only a bit hard to get there. The only way in is through some underground dungeon that can be found when moving north along the river from the dry sewer. Enemies were not difficult. And after having been to GNR, it seems like I get plenty of options at the Dupont Circle.

mhm
The GNR mission will get quite hard, as you have to go to the center of DC. Into the museum, find something cool - omg the museeums are so awesome.
As for your level I would recomend doing all the survival missions, they are quite cool - something I missed in NV.

Need to play FO3 again.

How did you like the arefu mission.? Pretty cool in my opinion.

Also go to the history museeum,  ;D

I arrived at the promenade. The monument, museums, the trenches of the mutants and all that stuff. Made no use of flamerthrowers, rocketlaunchers or miniguns so far. Got plenty of ammo though and I guess I'll make use of it now as I could not encounter the Talon Mercenaries in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Very tough guys along with those robots. Planning to go for the technical museum grabing that satelite dish.

About chapter 3 of that survival manual: Yes, I guess I could do that. I'm at level 14 now. I browsed the wiki a bit and found out that level 20 is max. Currently it looks like I'll be there in no-time. Seems like I need to grab the Broken Steel Addon so I can level up to level 30.

Arefu was a pain for me. I was pretty glad when it was over without much combat. I did that actually before I did the Big Town quest which would have been much more easy to do first.

They should have made that 911 calls as tapes with real speech instead of making me read comments like (glass breaking)

Though the amount of replies is rather small (for obvious reasons), I felt like posting a few screenshots. I hope it won't be considered spam.

Babelfish translation. Actually pretty easy to convert back into proper english, once you know how Babelfish works.

Tried to achieve some 'art'. Missed the freakin' mousecursor though.

Good boy! Keep watching the stash! And kill more Raiders, ok?

Very unexpected.

The Magaton house really sucks. It doesn't even have an arms cabinet but ugly lockers. And the furniture sets are a joke. I'd like to have wallpaper as well. Not to mention the lack of a gas stove in the kitchen.

Poor kid.

Poor parents.
