I saw a Stug today.  It was on a transporter heading southbound on the M11 at the junction with the M25.  And then as I passed Duxford there was what looked like a spitfire doing acrobatics.

I am thinking of taking up pipe smoking, but I am still a little worried about the health risks. I would not smoke more than once a week, not drink alcohol while smoking and rotate the pipe in my mouth in addition to flushing my oral cavity with water after my session is finished. I think that with these parametres in mind, I am not taking a real risk with regards to cancer. Most studies are coloured or not distinguishing between inhalers and non-inhalers, whereas I would rate as the latter. I would like to assume that the relaxation brought about by the pipe neutralises a lot of harmful stress and sorrow. I think if smoking will not kill me, this terrible twenty-first century sure will.

I am still unsure, though, since I had been in-doctrinated from the cradle that I would drop dead as soon as I consume an ounce of tobacco, and this non-sense still abides with me in my conscience. In addition to that, I am well aware that any smoking carries risks and that it might be harmful to my health. In the end I am still convinced that moderation is key in this matter, just as in about everything. The chance that I will return from to-morrows grocery shopping with a tin of Samuel Gawith Grousemoor or Commonwealth Mixture are about fifty per-cent. Ah, that will be a long night!

My grandpa has been smoking his entire life, he is 85 years old. A cousin of mine died 19 years old of cancer despite being an athlete and not ever touching cigarettes his entire life.

Just do whatever you like mate, if life wants to fuck you over she will find a way. ;)

I just burst out in laughter. I imagined Damaso coming back to this place in 10 years and reading everything again.

Allegedly Russia sent T-34/85s and SU-100s from stock-reserves to Ukraine in January this year. Can somebody confirm that? Or is it a hoax?

Russia is a country with vast reserves. They still have over 100 000 Maxim MG's, for example. In case of war, they can be used as effective stationary MG's. They are obsolete but still dangerous

Man it's a T-34, you just store it and fire it up whenever you need to. If it doesn't work, all you need is a hammer, a wrench and a bottle of vodka and it's fixed.

Yes, but that does not count people around them. My smoking uncle did live long, he contracted a stroke not because of smoking habits, but his diet. Now, the real victim is my cousin (his son) who gets lung cancer despite not smoking, thanks to his dad. Both of them recovered 100% and still live healthily to this day.
