Superb, there really isn't much more to add. :)

^ lol, exactly ;D I remember exactly this. The only bad thing was that the day I went there they had new questions (the exact day) and I had one mistake. Pretty sure it was about the question: "You are in a tunnel and you see a crashed car: a)You stay in your car and don't give a fuck, b) I get out and try to help, c) and d) I don't remember but I chose b and I am pretty sure it was wrong ^^ So I know exactly what to do next time: Let them rot ;D
What kind of silly question is that? :p It all depends on the situation doesn't it? If there is fire/smoke then "GET THE HELL OUT OF THE DAMN TUNNEL!" (and even then, depending on the situation you might be able to drive away or if in a traffic jam, walk away and towards the nearest emergency exit or against the wind direction), you may have time to call the emergency services (112), it may seem wise to offer help or if the situation seems under control you may just continue on as if nothing happend at all.

The Dutch exam is all about who has right of way (I did the exam before all traffic from the right on even-junctions had right of way, certain types of traffic would have right of way and others wouldn't have right of way comming from the same direction), how much profile you need on your tires, at which distance you need to activate the rear foglight, were you can or can not stand still, park, load/unload, which bicycle lanes you my cross or not cross.

But I think some organisations complained that there were  too many knowledge and not enough "insight" questions as what would be smart (the "OMG dangerous get the fuck away  OR don't do that shit you moron, that dangerous or counterproductive!!" questions or what I would call "damn, how about using common sense?").

My exam was mostly with questions like this (who has right of way? and other such "is this allowed or not" type of questions):

Seems like they threw in a bunch of "social questions" if these are real exam questions as one might expect in todays exams:

(You need to take into account other road users, how do you do that? A) I let everybody else go first B) I drive defensively and socially  C) I drive socially and slow.

Seems like the person who made these questions has a sense of humour though:

(( What do you do when you see the "caution, wild animals may cross" sign? A) Slow down and open  maximum  strenght headlights B) Honk, break and open headlights at maximum intensity C) Immidiatly hit the breaks and do not drive any further. ))

LOLLlllllllll. Though all answers are a bit silly,   who says you need to slow down, kinda depends on the situation not? And  yes you could open your lights but at maximum intensity you may very well blind oncomming traffic or cause any deer that may stand/cross the road to freeze...   during the say, sure you could open (maximum?) lights,  but when it is dark? doesn't seem very wise....  Regardless, A is the least silly answer but it isn't a perfect answer either. I'd go for option D "I may slow down and I may open my headlights depending on if it seems save to do so, most importantly I will take extra caution while driving along this road".

Which might be tricky, especially when you have only moments to chose an answer, are the difference between "you may" and "you must".

Be able to use the emergency parking brake, point out gas pedal, brake pedal, how to turn lights on, where the emergency hazard lights button is, how to turn on the lights for night driving etc.

Emergency parking break as in what normal people call the handbreak? Or are you talking about automatic gears (drive, park, neutral, reverse I guess? Never drove an automatic myself).

Damaso, Here is another tip

Read the question 2 times very very well. Now dont look at the answers before you have read the question

Then read the 3 answers (do not make a judgement). I did this, and the first answer i came up with, was often the correct answer of the question. This is how i scored 48/50 on the third try of my theory lesson (you need 44/50 to pass. Now 2 years later it is 46/50)
That migth work with paper exams but in NL the tests are on a computer. There is a large screen infront of the class and at every table/seat there is a small keypad device to enter the correct answer (A-B-C-D or delete) and you don't have a lot of time to answer the question. Read the question carefully,  but even more important, look at the images with much detail too, sometimes the question itself is easy ("who has right of way?" but the image itself may have a rather complex or tricky situation.

I passede my theory exam with ease, I failed my practical exam the first time around though, not too suprising as I was a bit nervous and some and you (I) hadn't yet learned to do all the various manouvres without giving it a second though, thus it all being executed in a bit of a "forced" or "hesitating"  way rather then smooth and direct. After a enough hours on the road most of the things will become second nature, or you simply throw some of the knowledge straight out the window... (how many -Dutch- people open their indicator on the highway 600 meters before the exit?).

I'm not sure what all the skills are that you need to show during the practical exam. I believe you need to show atleast two-three of the following: parking in a row (all cars head to tail) , parking crosswise (all cars side by side), reversing, turning in a street, stopping and driving away from a sloped surface, merging into and out of traffic/highway etc. Obviously you need to pay a lot of detail to all the mirrors too: making sure you are aware of all traffic around you before/while performing a manouvre etc. etc.

Oh and the worst episode by far must be the one were after months of traveling around the county, they decide to drive back home to stock their weapon's and ammo supply. At first I thought they just drove to some "nearby" city, it turned out to be their home town. That didn't make much sense at all, as from what I can tell the town is supposed to be hundreds of kilometers/miles away from the prison? And if it's only an hours drive or so away, why haven't they gone there much earlier for supplies or possibly even as a place to set up a semi permanent camp...  It all seemed completely random, as if they decided "they need supplies, let's let them drive to some town, a police station maybe,,, wait wait, let's make them drive back home so they can get a picture of their family too and meet up with that black guy from the first few episodes, yeah".

The first season was the best but the series are still okay. The last scene I'd call bad, as in spoiling too much. I would have had the episode stop after the boy collapsed to the floor. Unless ofcourse you want the audience to think that the kid turned into a zombie (and the "comming up" scenes talking about "so few survivers" ) and they flee the prison, looking for a new save haven  while actually that isn't going to happen at all...

It still beats World War Z though, that movie didn't make any sense in various scenes,  I lost suspension of disbelieve (= when you are totally emerged into a piece of media) as soon as the dumptruck hit that cop: "where the fuck did that came from? It wasn't even in the damn street  a split second before it hit that cop, right..."), the dumb "let's look for victem zero" even though with epedemics etc. they never trace back the very source of an outbreak and neither is it that important, the shitty protection in Jarusalem even though they were smart enough to build some  walls just before the outbreak, the silly "I'm the only person in the world to realize we can use this and this as a cloaking device"  etc.

Got 4 of them removed. Too bad the doc hit one of my nerves with his tools. Since then the right part of my jaw down to the right part of my chin feels numb. They said it will go away after half a year, because the nerve is only injured but not completely cut off. Now it's 3,5 years later and it's still numb. At first spit ran out of my mouth as I was unable to feel it but I got used to it and it does not happen anymore. It's not that I don't feel anything, but I don't seem to feel pain especially. Should head for the boxing business.

I hope that everything will continue to be alright Torenico, I think the later they get removed the more painful it is gonna be. And when they are coming out and are placed weirdly it might get kinda uncomfortable for you.
Ouch, how did that happen?  I had two wisdom teeth removed, the dentist did a local anesthetic near both teeth and used a set of (dental? I  sure hope so, lol) pliers to pull the two teeth. The sound was horrible though, I can't describe it. Sort of a scraping noice.

Apparantly in some countries (the US?) it's more common to go to the hospital and undergo full anthestics for this sort of thing. Really it only takes  about 10 minutes to pull two wisdom teeth.

Today standing on the train station platform, which I rarely do these days, a man, standing on the platform on the other side of the tracks, calls out to me.
He asks me how he can get to my platform. So I yell you take the stairs, he say What? I yell again, this continues for a minutes, till he gets it.
He comes up to the platform I'm standing on and of course engages me in a conversation.
At first I was trying to busy myself with ym phone, but then thought, fuck it let's have a real conversation for a change.
So he told me he came from the hospital, he was suffering from anoxia- oxygen deprivation. You could tell form the way his veins were showing like he was tattooed all over his face.

The train arrived and I said he was welcome to join me in the carriage. So we continued our conversation and he said how the quality of life is degrading when you get older. He was 77. With friends and wife being dead. Children not coming to visit, little to no social contact with your neighbours.

So I asked him if he still was enjoying life as it is. He breaks down and starts to cry and starts to apologize for it, to which I replied that there is nothing wrong with getting emotional about these things.
So he tells me how upset he is with the way euthanasia is regarded by our legal system. There was recent media coverage about a man that was prosecuted who committed euthanasia on his mother because the doctor couldn't/wouldn't help him.
And a doctor that committed suicide after being investigated for helping with euthanasia.

After that he talked about that he sometimes gets help from complete strangers when he is struggling with his breath problem, so we concluded that life and people are not complete bleak and hopeless. At which time the train pulls into the Central Station of Utrecht and he thanks for me for the conversation.
I thank him too and think to myself it has been a while since I had a real conversation that didn't revolve around work, office politics or superficial jokes and small talk.

The euthensia laws in the Netherlands are still too strict if you ask me. Having said that, there is still much to enjoy in life and it's short as it is. But losing contact with friends and family must be horrible though. I can imagen that the poor man felt very much alone and abandoned, having no parter to fall back on too (that must be the greatest miss of all).

And another blast from the past  ;D

Curious when Lobo or jumjum will make their reappearances.

I don't know if I'm a blast, but I'm from the past.

I've been following FHmod.org for months, well, in all the time I've been away. I'm looking forward to progress too.
I'll count you as a blast from the past aswell. :) Cheers!

Did somebody read aloud from the Necronomicon around here lately?
Indiana Jones!

It was collecting dust in the basement at the place you work or ... ?

It would be quite an achievement to match or surpass the 1993 Stalingrad movie.  So expecting a SPR type of Stalingrad movie that will be fun entertainment for one evening I wouldn't expect to be disappointed.

It doesn't make any sense, but that makes for a good laugh. :)

My gf has been watching this clip a lot in the last months, it's a big hit in her country:

Glad you could make your reapperance Dontuz. Now get back to your cellar and finish that Arnhem map.

I was just thinking about Donutz' Arnhem assets and map idea the other day while watching 'Theirs is the Glory."

 ;D

I hope you still have all your Arnhem stuff, Donutz! :)
I do, and I collected more material too ( archieven.nl uploaded a whole load of new pictures, maps etc. including a bunch of blueprints of the bridge -which I already had obtained from other sources such as the ministery/department of public works- ).

http://www.archieven.nl/nl/zoeken?miadt=37&mizig=284&miview=gal1&milang=nl&micols=3&mires=0&mizk_alle=rijnbrug&miej=1945

(at one of those pages are some blueprints aswell)

For now I'll just keep on collecting material, and probably build everything in Revit on High Resolution to export a low res to FH 4.0 in 10 years from now. :p

I bet Lobo missed being knived by me and others, got into a depression and went AWOL. :(  In 2014 I'll buy a new rig and get back into gaming (have to find a place to put the damn rig too, my small rental house has no room for a desk).
