Title: [map] "back to Pegasus bridge"
Post by: Godall on 21-04-2011, 10:04:25
(http://s44.radikal.ru/i104/1104/18/f52ce30652a1.jpg)

I decided to return this card in game. Because many fans Call of Duty and FH1 would like to see this map in FH2.
I find it easier to show what I have done than to tell what I'll do.
I present you some screenshots:

The bridge has no texture

What remarks? :)

Yes, these gliders are flying to accomplish other goals. Although I want to do with what would start flying C47 followed by Horsa. So it will be correct.

Make it 4km wide and include Ranville and its bridge for the 128p layer. ;)

I will particular like to see the Pegasus bridge itself

Good luck with this map man. I think it can be as big as Purple Heart lane to afford for what appears to human-flown gliders in the first shot, and especially German armor. You may want to give them distance from the battlefront so that the commandos get a breather after they cap the bridge before the armored counter-attack.

Also, include as many deployable weapons as possible. I would really like to see the Commandos set up a perimeter defense. For some of these, you can have it such that, once a German mg is destroyed, it is redeployed facing the German axis of advance, so that it seems as though some of the German equipment was captured and used.

Great map, man, This one actually makes me happy. Perhaps get in touch with an official dev (mapper) and see if he can't help you get this map to official standard - Who knows, that way it might actually make it in one day

Good idea, but my limited resources to create a map of 128 players

djinn, I will consider all your wishes and many thanks for support! :)

Well pegasus and ranville bridges are the real goal of that operation, not only pegasus. And I think that 3 gliders at the beginning is enough (and it's according to the history) so why do gliders respawn ?
Meanwhile, it's a great idea you've and you seem to have a lot of potential ! THis map looks great right now...so it will be huge when finished !!!

Good luck mate !

Here is what I find after a quick search :

Both bridges, the one to the left is pegasus, the one to the right is horsa. Ranville is below the south east corner and Bas de Ranville below the south west. Haven't found a picture for them yet ...

Dont bother with 128 player layer, there is a good chance there wont be another 128player server. So concentrate on making a 64 player map work first.
Title: Re: [map] "back to Pegasus bridge"
Post by: Beaufort on 22-04-2011, 09:04:35
And there is an even better chance that PR will release it's own 128 player trick, so I say you should bother...

Anyway, two pics of Ranvile and Bas de Ranville from the website above :

(http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/9577/pic17thjuneaerial.jpg) (http://img593.imageshack.us/i/pic17thjuneaerial.jpg/)
They say it is Ranville but I have some doubts ...

You can compare with a recent map. ;)

Beaufort, I have no plans to create Ranvile, it requires the creation of maps with 0. My card is ready at 50%, so there's no sense in creating a new map.
Can you find pictures of cities Le Port and Bénouville?

I could be wrong, but think that is the British Landing Zone just outside of Wolfheze, (Which you can see in the background of the photo) from Market-Garden.

It's Amfreville. The photo is taken from a plane that's flying just above the river, about 750m north of the bridge. You wouldn't see Ranville unless you turned 90 degrees to the right.

http://maps.google.nl/?ie=UTF8&ll=49.244752,-0.239854&spn=0.007775,0.022724&t=h&z=16

At any rate, it's quite definitely not Wolfheze.

Guys, I am making a map just to Pegasus Bridge.
I walked over to the next stage of constructing maps - adding unique models. In this regard, I am having difficulties with certain parts of the bridge with texturing and texturing in 3d max's.
I would find the manual for the imposition of different textures on single-model

That is not big record of my work ;)

Guys, I understand you want more. But I can not give you I do not have the tools to add  STEN Mk.V, "Denison's smock" 1944, «Helmet, steel P-type, MkI and MkII ». So what will STEN Mk.II and STEN Mk.II with silencer.

In kit the paratroopers...

I hope one of these 2 maps has giant transport craft, being either those humongous partners of the Horsas that would crash down, open doors and could even hold a jeep or maybe a small light tank. or a C-47 drop. I'll have to download to see i guess  ;)

The silenced Sten already exist ingame. Its in Port en Bessin, so some of your kits can have it. You can talk to someone like Hanley or other to reskin the current Brit kits to make them more para, even give them face paint... Would all add I think.

Great progress - Excitedly waiting to see this

Why don't you have some people look your map over. Better to get review at 60%, instead finding out at 100% that you have to redo lot's of work.

Yer, totally with Nth on this.
I want this map to become official so I'd love to have it looked over and fixed early.
Dont scrimp on realism when it comes to layout and scale if you can help it. I think the best maps have perfect layout like Port en Bessin. Gameplay comes naturally i.e. No obstacle course, if you can help yourself.

But do keep up on this. Dont need to show us anything till you are good and ready, but some of us are really behind you on this.

It is actually a good idea to show us your WIP work. Project looks very interesting and if you want it to be played well it's better to fix some gameplay issues now, just leave artistic feel at the end. You can always post or send download links via PM and let interested ppl have a fresh look on it if you're not scared of objective criticism. I offer my help if you need it ;)

For other tester to get the map working, manually create the folder structure C:\gmax\gamepacks\battlefield2. Put the textures map in there. The battlefield2 is no typo.

* Pegasus first backup , far from betatest.  Preventing HD crash..... (otolikos)

Not certain he is making the map. Just seems like he's fixing it.

You might as well go ahead and release a playable version for public testing when you can.

We are at 14+ months & counting since last release & intel suggest we may still have a ways to go.

 Looks very promising!
 ;)
