Brest - organized chaos. Even with so-so teamplay this map never gets repetitive or unplayable. Okay, maybe when the germans get pushed back to the last flag (and you're a german) or when the US F it up, tank-wise, and get stuck at the fountain (or worse), but these are exceptions. So much places to hide and routes to take.
Sidi Rezegh - Relies heavily on good teamplay, but I like the fact that both sides can be pushed out of the airfield without immediately losing. The flags are just far enough apart to have these little micro warzones for a particular flag. Plus, the map looks really beautiful. It doesn't feel like a designed map at all, it feels real.
Fall Of Tobruk - I think this is my favourite of all the FH2 maps, like Tarawa was my favourite FH1 map, because there's so much to do, and to see. Great mix between early war armoured and infantry combat (before the tanks became these all powerful beasts). I like Siege of Tobruk too, but this one takes the cake.
Battle For Sfakia - I had to include at least one infantry map (okay, apart from the Vickers), and Sfakia is my favorite. It doesn't have the bottleneck repetitiveness of Tunis, or the off-and-on flagcap anthics of Giarabub, it feels like a proper siege, by infantry. And again, it's playable with good teamwork, but also still fun when it's just guys running around.
Special mention for:
Mareth (always enjoy it when it comes around),
Alam Halfa (a somewhat forgotten map nowadays, but it was the first map I played when FH2 came out) and
Purple Heart Lane, for indeed being a work of art. Oh, and
Totalize, for being that classic Forgotten Hope map where everything comes together.
There aren't any maps anymore that make me quit playing, but
Lüttich is simply on
way too much, although everytime I stick around to play anyway.
And, although they have improved with recent updates, I still don't really like
Anctoville and
Villers Bocage. I'll play 'm and enjoy myself, but they just don't
do it for me somehow.
